That white Ric was a March 1978 model. Bought it new at Bandstand Music in Bellevue, WA for $625. I no longer have it, but it's still in the family. I sold it to my cousin years ago and I still have "visiting rights. I have recorded with it recently.

Thanks Jared. I guess that means I will need to remove the amp from the speaker enclosure (it's a solid-state combo).

I have some scratchy pots on a 1980's bass combo. How do I spray the pots - pop off the dials, then into the front?

I'll Take You There was recorded in 1972, so roundwounds were available at that time. However, the recording does sound like flats.

Born and raised right here in Seattle, unlike most of the people here now. By the way, it rains here all the time (except when it's sunny like today;>)

Greg,
Thanks for all the info. It's a shame that the tech didn't do what you've outlined when the amp was on the bench. Maybe he figured that replacing the electrolytic caps would solve the problem. Well, I'm going to have him look at it again.

Thanks for all the info Greg. I just had the caps replaced (9 total) and the problem persists. It's aggrevating.

Thanks for the help guys. It's a pretty old amp, so any beer that has been spilled has long since lost it's carbonation! I've checked it with multiple speaker configs, so it's not that. It's odd - the note sounds great, but as the note dies out it gets replaced by this buzzy/fizzy sound. Please don'...

Sunn Amp issue

Hi, I have a 1968 Sunn 2000S amp. It sounds great, but as a played note is decaying, there is a fizzy sound. I've eliminated the speaker being the problem, as this occurs through different cabinets. I just had the electrolytic capacitors replaced, and the problem remains. The tubes check out fine. A...

I like Dunlop USA Nylon .60 for guitar (it's not clacky when recorded) and .88 or 1 mm for bass.

I saw the VH1 program. As I was watching, it got me to thinking that this music does not measure-up to his past glory. Then I tried to imagine the music apart from McCartney the legend, and it sounded really good.
