For some stupid reason my comp is acting up or myspace is or something and wont play the songs. Ill try to lesson to them later. Stupid computers... For all the good they do... Its taking 10 years off my life cause of stress. Haha.

Here's my MySpace page:

http://www.myspace.com/davidschwab

There's two songs with my old band Blue, circa 1994.

They are two of my favorite recordings, as far as the sound of my bass is concerned...

And some unfinished stuff on my home page (which hasn't been updated in a while...)

MySpace has been having player issues lately for everyone...

I found some actual Ric content! Image

These are two recordings done sometime in the mid 80's, by me and my former band The Jetsonz.

I'm playing my modded '73 4001, with Sidewinder and Hi-A pickups, strung up with what I think was Fender flats. Recorded direct to the board.

I actually have a lot of recording with this bass... most of it live, but none of it digitized.

These were from a cassette tape, which I cleaned up.

Sean.. I just listened to your clips.. wow! Sick tone! Love that clanking, grinding sound! And is it tough trying to sing with your head looking up?

I remixed the tune "Blizzard of Oxbow" that I posted in the "Mr. Silver has just arrived" thread, and put it at myspace.com/hieronymous (there's some other non-Rickenbacker stuff on there too, as well as another 8-string bass on the "five storied pagoda" snippet). It's my 4003S/8 in stereo (not Rick-o-sound, but split with a loooper a/b box) - one channel clean (though slathered in Space Echo) and one channel through a Budda Phat-Bass distortion and Electro-Harmonix Small Stone phaser. It's much longer than the version I posted here earlier, with a spacy intro...

The Small Stone sounds really cool on Rics. I just tried one recently that is owned by a guy in my dorm . . . "Tempus Fugit" never sounded better . . . except maybe on the original recording.

Jacob, what kind of metal? There's so many different genres now. But if you want classic metal, then Lemmy/Motorhead and Roger Glover on Machine Head by Deep Purple. Some people might argue that Deep Purple aren't metal, but whatever the case, the bass is heavy sounding!!! If you don't have that album, then buy it! There's more to Deep Purple than "Smoke on the Water" - though actually, the bass line on that is really cool and is as important as the guitar part that everyone knows...

Okay Ill check them out. Any kind really. I mean these guys really love pantera and all that. But they are welling to write to my stuff to. So ill be playing in drop D and standard probly about half and half. Who knows. Their metal heads and Im all over the board. Maybe well create some kind of funk metal or something off the wall like that. Image
