Yes, considering the physical dimensions of the 400+, it weighs a heck of a lot. I can't carry it on my own, I always need someone else's help (old injury).

I play a 4003 through a Mesa Boogie 400+, running to two Mesa Boogie cabs (4x10 and 1x15). Great sounding rig. I also use Rotosound roundwounds and a Fulltone Bassdrive.

I compared the 400+ to an Ampeg SVTCL at my local GC, and went with the 400+ (purchased used off of ebay later).

Very ...

What is considered the appropriate abbreviation for Rickenbacker? Ric or Rick? Or both?

Dean,

I'm primarily a bass player (4003, 4001). I own a 360/12 that I use for recording. If you get one, I would recommend that you also get the McGuinn DVD. I now tune my 360/12 down half a step (neck relief) and capo whenever necessary. It's interesting to see how McGuinn frets certain chords ...

Isn't the 4005 the holy grail of basses? You should buy it - you'll regret passing it up. If buyers remorse lasts longer than a year or two, I'm sure you could sell it and make a profit.

But I'm sure you wouldn't sell it...

Another vote for FG. JG would be cool, since it's a rare item. I would rather have a 4001C64S (MG of course) than a 4001C64 MG.

I use a Fulltone Bassdrive with my 4003 on a few songs, including King Crimson's Red. It suits me - I really like it.

Bob, how many basses do you own? I have the 4001C64, and a 4003 Jetglo. I'd bid on your 4003 Burgundyglo, but I have a Blueburst on hold.

I purchased a 4001C64 from Gary at Northcoast. Great experience. I also purchased a 360/12 from Mike Parks at The Rickenbacker Page (The Music Connection):
