Strangely enough, Ric 650s come stock with HB1 buckers and 250K pots.....my 650 came alive after I swapped in 500k pots.
It was a DAKOTA and I wish I had it back....

Re: Compressor and jangle help for my 360
Ok....I amLOVING what the Jbox does for both my Ric and my tele! Makes cleans just jump out of the amp.....jangle city.
I get it now... Playing around with this compressor, I can "hear" tones from various albums that I didn't previously realize we're compressed. I gigged the pedal last night with ...

Indeed I am not a pedal guy....I do have a JB Silver on the way that will be dedicated to my Ric.
I'll advise and no doubt ask for help when it arrives!

Re: I'm back! Rockin' a mapleglo 360!!! Ric-less no more!
I cannot say definitively, but the neck on my 2009 is easy, full and easy to play and even bend on. It feels better to me than the 2005....

Compressor and jangle help for my 360
I have a Ric 360 again! And the neck is heavenly for blues and rock!
Anyway, for some of my originals I want maximum jangle....most of my NMV amps are designed for classic OD...but my Marshall Bluesbreaker has a beautiful bell-like clean tone with Emi Red Fangs. My 360 is a 6 string with Hi Gains ...

I bought. 360FG in 2005 ...returned it 3 days later cause I couldn't get along with the neck....but the Ric bug stayed.., anew months later I bought a 650 Dakota which I gigged in a blues band for about 4 years. Loved it but couldn't fly above the 15th fret....sold it to fund a GREAT Hamer Monaco ...

Re: What are Rickenbacker for?
I owned a 650d in the past and just picked up a 360mg after being RIC-less for a couple years.
I play in a blues and classic rock band..,..my 360 can do anything. T is a killer.ead guitar and I can haul a$$ on it. Blink 182 is not my cup often, but yes Rics can do that. They can do anything....heck ...

Re: Help with 650D pickups...!
I'd better explain...I bought this guitar new in 2005 and have loved it & played it a lot....Clean it sounds like a million bucks (articulate is the word I use) and with a little amp OD it oozes tone...but I swapped in new 500K pots cause the neck in particular would get muddy.
The problem is when ...

Help with 650D pickups...!
My HB-1s in my 650D were too muddy from the start with much natural amp OD & distortion. I changed the Vol pots to 500Ks & the tone cap to.01s. A bit better but not there....now I read about using a 1Meg tone pot with 500K vol pots...I'm gonna try it. What tone caps should I use? The original .047s ...

Re: New Dakota
Give it some time...I play a Hamer Artist with medium frets & a Strat, Peavey, & a Tele with medium jumbos....
Going from any of them to my Dakota requires about 10 seconds to "get the feel" agaon for my Ric....but them again, I've been playing my Dakota since 2005....I find it to be like changing ...
