What's great about this bass is that I can use it. Earlier this year I sold my Blackstar which I had bought new (to someone on this forum.) I LOVED how it felt in my hands and how it sounded. But it had become too valuable as a collector's item to use so I let it go.

With this one, no such ...

Nude Tuxedo

Remeber the nude (stripped) Tuxedo sold on Ebay a while back? Well, it turned into a "Redneck Tuxedo".

It looks like an EB-3 with no pickguard. Not really all that rare. Think there's a black one on Ebay now.

Thanks for that Bob. That middle ground sounds perfect I'll give 'em a try. (I'm talking about a Guild JS-II with Darkstar pickups.)

Chromes?

Recalled some buzz around chromes here and did a search. Read the threads, but I'm left with a question. I'm looking to find some strings to put on a bass with two single coils that will not sound like my 4003. Reading the threads, i get the feeling that chromes will not be the best choice?

The ...

Dane - someone just told me today that "Rickenbacker recommends no neck relief" and now I see your posting. So is this is a general instruction for all Rick basses?

Thanks,

A few years back I bought a CS from a seller in Japan. Also a guitar. Both arrived in under a week for a lot less cost than shipping from Europe (and I'm on the East coast).

And as mark noted, the Google translation tool is not bad at all.

Played many of their songs back then, but not my top favs at the time. Preferred the songs and especially the bass playing from Uriah Heep! Nonetheless, there must be some good karma coming from my little Marshall stack that was said to have been used at a DP concert. http://archives.rickresource.com ...

Well said, Sean. Great point about close versus loud amping. It's easy to get too obsessed and forget what the point of the equipment is in the first place.

But, it's harmless fun, eh?

There's real wide divide between many folks here and those of us who don't mind a mod or two if it improves the sound or playability of a bass. I've recently learned the hard way that mods can affect values when you to to sell http://archives.rickresource.com/clipart/sad.gif But then, I sure wouldn ...
