Hey Doombuggy(kool handle) I have 1 that I've had for quite a few years. Bought it used, never got around the restoring it yet. Will let it go for $750.00, you can pick the color for the body since it hasn't been painted. It's a single pickup model with black pickguard. If interested I could also clear coat the finger board. The body is good, I did a refret about 10 years ago, just never got around to finishing the Bass.

WOW! Man, you can't beat that offer with a hickory stick. Grab that thing with both hands.

Tommy, Fiesta red is a Fenders only kinda thing. I'm serious, Dales refin's are worth almost as much as the bass.

I know Dales history and his amazing work, I meant no disrespect to him...
Ive seen his work for Kenny H.
just thought it was an interesting concept for a 3000 since it has a Fenderish sound, bolt neck and I think I read that it was designed by a Ex-Fender employ??
in other words its just an idea no one has painted the Rick a Fender color.

That EX Fender employee was Terry Deason. He had a work bench right next to mine in the wood shop. Terry was a pretty cool guy. On weekends he worked as a clown at restaurants in Fullerton and Anaheim. He did the whole makeup thing with the big smiley face and red cheeks and the full on clown suit with the big shoes. When we 1st started making the 3000 series Bass, I thought it wouldn't do well because it was a solid Maple Body and was very heavy. It had a good sound but I think the weight of it stopped it from being a desirable Bass.

A Blueboy (or Blueburst) 3000 isn't a bad idea... or a Jetglo with a custom more elegant shaped pickguard (like a short scale version of the 2020 Hamburg or the Glen Frey model).

Ilan, that's a great color idea. I think I'll do it Blue Boy with a custom back painted Gold Guard and vintage black knobs.. Thanks
