Re: CALL FOR CALENDAR PHOTOS!

Just got mine last Friday, and had the same problem. I just submitted a problem ticket, thanks for the link.

Other than the September problem, it's a spectacular selection of pix! Melissa's famed "PurpleBurst" is my favorite.

Wow, outstanding. Me and a buddy have done this ourselves, but the drums on yours are incredible! Very nice job. Would love to hear more.

Re: New 325C64!!!

Well, haven't been around in awhile, but was checking in a few days ago, seeing how people were doing with their "C" orders. I've got a 360/12C63 and a 325C58, and just resigned myself that I wasn't going to go thru any more multi-year waits, I just didn't have it in me to even try to get a 325C64 ...

Re: George and his Gretsches

Jake -- I'm a huge Gretsch freak as well as a Rick and Beatle freak. I've read everything I ever could about what happened to which guitar when, and I still don't know. But, my supposition has always been that the first Gent was the one smashed on the road, and it was his second one that he gave ...

Re: 360/12C63's are Shipping!

Congrats Kris, it's gorgeous. I got mine back in spring 2007 (after a 2-yr wait), and I remember you posting that you were hoping you'd be in the next batch. I thought 2 yrs was a long wait, but 1138 days is a LOOOONNGGGG wait.

How does it sound? Is it everything you expected, or are you finding ...

Re: How to play my favorite George Ric 12 riffs

Agree with Jim. Even though I've played those songs since I was a kid (with a BIG gap of years between then and now), my "style" was non-existent. When I picked up the guitar again about 7 yrs ago, someone turned me on to the Rob Taylor "Beatles-To-A-Tee" vids, and they were complete eye openers ...

Re: Total Rickenbackers on the RRF!

Thanks -- and the pic of the '80 360 was taken before I did the trusty Zymol-&-Scratch-X treatment on it.

Mr. Hall sure knows how to build beautiful guitars.

Re: What's your favorite RIC 12-string model, and why?

I've got a 1980 standard 360-12 FG, and a 2007 360C63/12. I love the vibe of the C63, but honestly my '80 360-12 is one of the easiest guitars I've ever played in my life. Of all the 20+ guitars I've got, that one has the best feeling neck and the best action, without a doubt -- and after almost 30 ...

Re: Do 325's Need Flatwounds?

Definitely flats. I went to D'Addario Chrome 12s, then 13. Stays in tune and has that great early-Lennon attack. Little harder to bend strings, but the short scale mitigates that to a degree. I can still do the lead break to "You Can't Do That" even with 13s.

Re: Fitting a 12 string set of strings

One of the great lessons I learned from this forum a couple years ago was that you can set the string up in the tailpiece, over the bridge, then use a capo to hold it in place while you work it thru the tuning pegs. Then you have both hands free to fight with the slotted headstock and threading ...

Re: What's up with the 360/12c63

Hang in there Kris. Small comfort, I know. I ordered mine from NCM in March 2005, got it almost exactly 2 years later. If I'd read one more posting saying, "It's worth the wait", I think I would have kicked in my monitor. But eventually, it got here, and it is a fantastic instrument, so it was, uhm ...

Jerry, Though I've seen these before, I never get tired of looking at them...very nice. I still love the BBR 360VP....anything new from the Wanna Beatles?

Hi John, thanks. The last guitar I got was the Rosewood Telecaster in December. Since then my wife has me on a short leash -- a "guitar ...

Re: REM on "Today Show"

Just saw it in the Pacific time zone. I really love these concerts that the Today Show does, the artists seem so much more "accessible" and real, rather than watching them on some of those glitzy DVD concerts.

And of course, now I need to get yet ANOTHER Rick....
