Now available to order. 4005V. Just V. New single double-action rod and a narrower skunk stripe. Same thinner neck profile as the newer 4003's but it has the same inlays as the 4005XC.

None. Bubinga was for a time but that was lifted. We don't use Brazilian rosewood.

Re: 300 series return to 21 frets

A lot of players prefer a chunkier neck regardless of brand, skinny necks can be cramp inducing to many players including myself. Historically accurate to a particular era is not always preferable, and let’s also be mindful of the fact that there are iconic Ric players that famously played the ...

Re: 300 series return to 21 frets

Everyone seems to focus on the aesthetics of the new 21-fret models. Personally, I see no improvement, per se, of 21 frets. If anything, with 53 years of history behind the 24-fret versions, and me looking at my own 24-fret Ric's for the past 19 years, the new versions look a bit odd to me. That ...

Re: Rickenbacker 1993Plus Replacement Tuners

Ben, for many years, as I understand it, the reissue tuners were made by Gotoh. When were they switched to Schaller?
Is there any plan to make single-line type tuners available as were fitted to the 325c64 and 360/12c63 from their inception to about 2016?

They were made by Gotoh until about ...

Re: Rickenbacker 1993Plus Replacement Tuners

Let me know how the replacement tuners work for you. Schaller used to be a quality driven outfit, but since it was sold in 2006 things have definitely changed - especially in relation to the vintage tuners. We have found another "Kluson" style vendor as of about 2 months ago and we feel they are far ...

Pretty sure it will work. There is still magnet there under that string.

Bring it on down to the shop and we'll chuck it up on the CNC machine and rout it out for you... if you're brave :P

Re: Lacquering a 4003 fretboard?

Probably the only place a nitro finish makes sense on relating to musical instruments is acoustic guitars.

Not really Taylor, pioneered the use of UV polyester on its guitars.

Even our old pal up the road from us, Kevin Ryan https://ryanguitars.com/, who sells his acoustics for more than $10k ...
