Geddy's New Rickenbacker

Post by rickenbrother »

For those who do not use social media, the RIC Factory has created this bass guitar for Geddy Lee to use during the upcoming Rush tour. I don't use social media much anymore, but I do sometimes sneak a peek at Instagram.

Nice custom bass, but it really doesn't really scream "Geddy" does it?

My favorite color: blue
My favorite pickups: modern horseshoe and toaster, even if they are not humbucking - they work on this instrument
My favorite trim: checkerboard
My favorite neck position to get the hollow tone to compliment the treble pickup tone.
Too bad I live in a place where Rush will never perform.

Maybe not 1970's Geddy, but I think it suits him well currently.

So... what sort of bridge is under that gold cover?
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Yeah, I am curious about that, too. I suppose it could be based on the new/current/recent one for the 4005V.

I will never forgive him for using a Fender when he filled in for Squire at the Yes R&R HOF induction. Geddy, how could you?

A gorgeous bass all the same with a sound to match. It will be sought after I suspect. A good move by Rickenbacker.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Curious which Instagram account you found these pictures. I follow as many Rickenbacker enthusiasts accounts as possible, including several of you and I can’t find this post anywhere. Facebook as well. :?
I like Rickenbacker basses, especially the good ones.
