I should probably have stated earlier that i am a left handed guitar player, which is what led me to shop around outside my immediate area for guitars. Not only do the local shops not usually stock lefty instruments, but often if they do, they are in extremely limited supply and many times not of ...

Deals, pricing, and web etiquette

Perhaps this is mostly a question, or series of questions, for the moderator, but i think most of us have opinions on it... I think most us search for a "good deal" on a guitar. But once that deal is found (hopefully!) i see very little (actually none) actual posting of prices, and the name of the ...

one way around this problem is to take an old cotton t shirt and cut and sew a small tube of material and slip that over the foam. Keeps the guitar from foam/rubber contact and still allows the foam/rubber of the stand to cushion the guitar at the pressure points.

Jaime, you might want to check out a 660. great looks (all the stuff you like about a 620) and a wider neck to boot. You might be able to order it with the higain pups if you want a hotter sound. I have owned a few ricks ( i am a lefty and Rickenbacker is one of the FEW quality makers to have lefty ...

Thank you all for the feedback. Stephen, i think i will take your advice and just play the guitar a bit more before making a radical change. As usual, the answer lies in just playing more....

Bigger frets and de-laquering the fretboard

I am contemplating having the fretboard de-laquered and finished in a satin finish, as well as having larger (medium jumbo- the Dunlop size 6105 or 6100) frets installed on my 660. while i love the guitar, i think i would like the satin finish and the bigger frets. I am not sure how it would affect ...

I have a lefty blue boy 360 with vintage pups on order since January. Sigh. But being a lefty i am pretty used to waiting. Doesn't necessarily make it any easier though. (no surprise there...)

Hi Tom. I have had 2 620's and a 350v63, as well as a 660 and a 360 and have switched between toasters and hi gains on all of them. Guess i just like to fiddle with the sound. I think, like many others on this forum, that the sound of the toasters and the hi gains is quite similar: i think someone ...

mark, i just ordered a Blue Boy 360, and there was a $100 charge for that color, so am not sure if the special spray set-up applies solely to the 'burst finishes. i would guess we are paying for the fact that they are fairly new colors (the MB and BB) and that they require special paint mixing, set ...

Jeff- You are very welcome! And thanks for the good wishes on the Blue Boy. I'd wanted a Rick in the color ever since seeing the Japanese Blue Boy 360 and 620 on Mike Parks' Rickenbacker Page site awhile back.

I ordered a left handed 360 in Blue Boy, with the vintage pickups yesterday. Here is the price breakdown: $1549 for the stock guitar; $125 for the lefty bit; $100 for the vintage pickup upgrade; $100 for the Blue Boy color, and $100 for the case upgrade, which you gotta have if you get a lefty and ...
