Re: New guy here...

Mike!

Your name rang a bell. I see we exchanged "private messages" on here, back in 2008. At that time, you had just moved to Pasadena and you were at Fire Station 50. I was living nearby in Highland Park.

I can't tell you your former user name... it shows you as "anonymous" in my inbox now. :lol ...

Re: 480XC

It feels the same. I'm sure it's the 10" radius that other Rick guitars have. It's certainly not flat.

Yes, it appears some experimental "cross-breeding" has taken place. 8)

Re: 480XC

Hah, I read that one, Jason. I was expecting more of a review.

That terse post of mine was merely to address the concern that people wouldn't be seeing these guitars until Christmas or later.

Anyway, I'm guessing Jason was recalling a post I wrote in the RRF page on Facebook. I was a bit more ...

Re: Get A Load Of This You Tube Joker

I happened to stumble across this video a couple of days ago... although this time, thanks to your link, I managed to watch the whole thing and it confirmed my initial suspicion: the video is indeed bad from start to finish.

Oh well... everybody's gotta be somebody, I guess.

Re: 250 El Dorado vs 650 Colorado - Battle of the Hummies

I had a 260 (the newer version of the 250) and a 650 D. From a "playability" perspective, the main difference between a 250 and a 650 is going to be with the neck, with the 650 being slightly wider.

The humbuckers are the same. They are "packaged" differently... e.g., adjusting the pickup height ...

StanleyFX Blue Nebula

I acquired the Blue Nebula last summer and find it to be an excellent echo pedal for getting Hank's sounds. Not cheap; nor is it the most expensive, either.

It comes equipped with pre-sets for almost 2 dozen Shadows songs... and is programmable to make/save a whole bunch more. Also has reverb and ...

Re: And in the end ...

So let's hear it! What Rickenbackers did you keep and why?

Burglary thinned my herd. :(

I got a 660 last year and a 480XC this month. Those 2 are all I need. They are my "keepers." Especially that 480! The "XC" is SEXY. 8)

And I still have an old Combo 800 as my "museum" piece.

Re: Rickenbacker 90th Anniversary Models

My 480XC arrived yesterday... less than 3 months after ordering it. So, RIC is getting them out there in a timely manner.

I have a Stingray from Dr.Z. Great sounding amp. Not really a bedroom amp, though.

But a Z Air Brake takes care of that.

Re: Dr Z Amps

Does anyone have a Dr Z amp?
I have one. It's a 2x12 combo Stingray. Yes, Stingray. I got one of the early ones before the good Dr. had to change the name a little.
