Re: And in the end ...
I've had only three.
I bought a '73 480 BG in 1974, my first great guitar. It was stolen in '82, and I went right out and got another, an '81 480 BG.
I also have a '04 650D; both will be with me to the end.

Re: "A Hard Day's Night" Solo
Interesting analysis of AHDN here: http://www.icce.rug.nl/~soundscapes/DAT ... ahdn.shtml
Says solo was done by 12 string and electric piano together - may be difficult to duplicate with only 1 guitar.

Re: Gigged w/ 480... Some Comments & Questions
I've gigged with my 480's for over 30 years - never failed to get noticed. Actually, the 480 was the only electric guitar model I owned from '74 through '03. When I bring it out nowadays (not very often), it still elicits the oohs and aahs. My longtime drummer always tells me it's the best sounding ...

Re: Photographs of the 480 Series

Re: When A Strat Plays The Blues.ahh Jazz
The only view of the controls on that Strat come around the 1:19 thru 1:23 marks. I see the pickup switch in the treble pickup position; can't tell where the tone knobs are set, however stock Strat treble pickups are not wired through the tone knobs AFAIK. So unless some mods were done, I don't see ...
