Re: Pick survey...

Damon's looks like an original oldie. I've got a couple of them that were given to me by somebody in the distant past.

There is an ebay seller who sells similar new ones. However, lately he's had every possible color except tortoise-shell. Here's a link to some in fake abalone:

That's an incredible price. $1400 less that what it would cost to but it new at MF.

Re: 325C64 ramp angle

I really doubt it's a prop - I think they used John's actual guitar. The strings are messy and untrimmed.

Yup - that's exactly what I was looking at. Thanks for the YT link. You can see a good shot of the break ...

Well, that's exactly what I want - a steep angle break. How old is your 325?

Re: 325C64 ramp angle

Hey Nick - actually, I'm pretty sure that was not a prop, and neither were any of the other instruments.

The high E on roller bridges tends to rattle a bit - this is a common problem with them, a better break angle fixes that.

Edited to add: OK, I see what you mean - you say that it wasn't ...

325C64 ramp angle

While watching DVD1 of the 'Beatles Anthology', there was a passage where they showed the various instruments laying across chairs and stools, no one in the studio, and just some recording out takes playing in the background.

John's (new) 325 is shown several times and from angles where is it very ...

I think Rosie O'Donnell is doing a show next week on how the government killed Paul and then replaced him with a look-a-like from the Johnson administration. ;-)

Received mine three weeks ago - my first Ric and the first time I ever played a 325. It's exactly what I thought it would be. Very happy with it.

once you get past the pictures, the articles are actually very good - like a mini 'Recording the Beatles'. The detail they used to get different sounds in the recording of the album was incredible.

According to John Hall, MF places orders far in advance, so your wait time may be less by going with MF (assuming they have that model on order). I only had to wait a month for my 325C64 even though their web site had the wait time for at least a year. If you do go with MF, call them every 6 weeks ...

I've got normal length hands with wide fingers (similar to Danny Gatton) and I have no problem doing full barre chords at the 12th fret like the full E (upstroked) for the beginning of "She's a Woman". I thought that short scale would be a problem for me - just the opposite - I'm finding it easier ...

Does Rickenbacker send you some sort of confirmation when they receive your warranty card, or do you need to call yourself to confirm? I'd hate to get a year down the road and find out they never received it.
