Wait time for 325C64

Post by jayt »

I've been considering ordering a new 325C64. I see that MF has the expected date of June'08 - is that really what I can expect? TIA

Realistically, it's likely. You can check with the RIC website and find when and where the 325 C has been shipped. Some dealers will get one sooner than MF, but those may be pre-paid orders. Check with North Coast Music. I'm sure folks here on the forum may have other suggestions as well.

When I ordered mine from Gary at NCM last Oct, he told me to expect about a year, so I think the MF site is in the window. As Stan mentions, Gary is very good to deal with--

If you're interested, several places have 1996s available (there was one at The Music Zoo as of a day or so ago). Essentially the same guitar with an F hole and AFG finish. Of course, if you're heart is set on the classic black Lennon guitar, it wouldn't work.

MF is telling me now the 'real' wait is Oct'07. That actually works out OK for me.

I'm not sure its a matter of trust. I think all RIC dealers know the drill. However, some are better at explaining it than others.

Besides it looks like in Jack's eyes they are heroes.

>>I wouldn't actually 'trust' MF giving a confirmation like that, with my past experience with them.

So then you're saying the package I'm tracking thru UPS is an empty box? That's going to be very disappointing. What a gyp!

I've always found MF to be straightforward in their communications--if they something's shipped, it's shipped. Customer Service in general has been exceptionally positive, especially for a huge retailer. I've never had an issue with an exchange, etc.

FWIW Jack, I bought my very first Ric from them, a 350v63 in Fireglo that was in their Clearance Area--great guitar that was in perfect shape.

David - I was just having some fun with my answer ;) I too have had one or two unfortunate dealings with some online dealers (and I did once receive an empty box from Amazon!). In my case, I think some people ahead of me on MF's list dropped off and I lucked out as Ric just made a recent 325C64 shipment to MF. Watching the Ric shipment online logs, it looks like they've been cranking a good number of them recently.

I'm with you David, i too love Lennon's 325,hence my first rick was a 320! Then i realized i couldn't play the 3/4 scale! (Doh!).. It's since been relocated to Sydney (i think)via ebay and i've acquired a Jetglo 350(courtesy of Aitch),as well as a FG360.
I still find myself a little jealous of those who can play the 320's and the 325's!
