I had a V63 that hung in a store for years before I bought it. It had fret issues and a neck twist. Still had some warranty left, so back to Rickenbacker it went! Go back a great instrument that I never should have sold...

Rickenbacker has a solid warranty--and don't be afraid to use it.

Yep--the 4004Cii is Blueburst. Despite the sorta poor picture quality, the burst really comes through on that bass.

My current line-up...

I need an old 4001 FG w/CB and sparkle inlays, but otherwise I'm pretty darn happy with the lot.

Forgot to mention that there were two at Wildwood when I went in to pick mine up. I had my choice of the two...but they were virtually identical. While I did check the necks on both for any variation, I ended up taking the first one I picked up...the one with my fingerprints all over it... I don't k...

Atsushi's picture continues to confirm for me that Rickenbacker got it wrong with the details on the 4001C64 bass concept. Beautiful bass, Atsushi!

I believe that Rickenbacker never made enough of them to really finalize the design. John Hall killed their production to make way for the steady sellers. Might have been a sound business move, but I can't help but wonder how the product might have matured had production continued. I have to admit t...

The green and blue wires go from the treble pickup to the XLR input. These leads are not present on the bass pickup. I don't know if there are two different pickups on a 4002 or if this is simply another tap available on both pickups.

Ted--I see the .1uF caps (C3 & C4) going from the the tone pots to ground, the .01uF caps (C1 & C2) in parallel with 300K Ohm resistors (R5 & R6). R5 & R6 in the official Rickenbacker schematic show 10M Ohm resistors, which are the two obvious discrepancies I see. I really have no id...

Good luck on finding 4002 pickups. I've been looking for 4002 pickups since early '96 and I've not seen any for sale. I emailed John Hall in '97 and received a response that they didn't have any complete pickups for sale and probably did not have any of the special pickup bobbins left. Obviously, th...

Ariel, my first Rickenbacker bass, a '97 4003. Post #97, so it seems appropriate to show her off.

Unlike my other basses, I have NEVER considered letting this one go.

I've been able to get any Blueburst color Rickenbacker without waiting for it...I have no idea why. Lucky color for me, I guess. This bass was built around December 15th, 2005. I bought it from Wildwood Guitars in early January 2006. I work about 5 minutes away from Wildwood, so when I heard about i...

Blueburst is my favorite Rick finish. I had the NAMM 4003BBR, but sold it to get this 4004BBR...to keep diversity in my collection. That's what I told the wife, anyway. http://archives.rickresource.com/oldattachments/131789.jpg The flash on this following shot actually brought out the flame in the w...

I really want that slim neck profile and am willing to wait to get it.
