Re: Tico-Tico flamenco guitar (web-cam / skype) lesson 3

Ruben, I am most certainly going to check this entire section out more when I get the chance. I am always interested in exploring new techniques, although I have little to no experience in this genre. Gives me a good reason to dust off my old nylon string and see what comes up.

Thank you very much ...

Re: Opinion: Greatest Rock Movie?

The Last Waltz is by far my favorite concert movie, maybe closely followed by Pink Floyd's Live in Pompeii.

As far as movies made about Rock and Roll, I would have to go with Walk the Line.

Will do Goofy, I'll get some pics of the new and broken Martins up soon. Been meaning to, just got a little busy the past week.

Re: Back in the Market

I played countless guitars and when all was said and done, I bought the Martin. I love the auditorium Martins, and after playing nearly every brand I could get my mitts on nothing else felt quite as right. Got a great price on a "used" one from someone who bought it earlier this year and just never ...

Re: Expanding My Horizons...

Good stuff John! Gretschs are pure eye candy, I have always loved their retro designs. Would like to someday get my hands on a corvette or duo jet myself.

Anyone have any experience playing the Rancher acoustics? Standard or Jr. I can't seem to find anywhere that carries them, but would love to ...

Re: Ibanez Artcores

I would take most comments here with a grain of salt. This being Rickenbacker purist forum, you probably wont find a ton of love for companies like Ibanez here.

Josh, go youtube up some George Benson, Pat Metheny & John Scofield to see some Ibanez semi hollows in action.

Of course mine is a ...

Re: Ibanez Artcores

I don't have an Artcore, but I do have an Artstar AS120 in Sunbrust. Although I do not play it a ton, I have had it for about 10 years and it has always played and sounded well. For the money, it is tough to beat Ibanez in the market on these style guitars in my opinion. The pickups are fairly good ...

Re: Back in the Market

Has this "good friend" been re-assessed?
Haha never. Guitars can be replaced. 20+ year friends, not so easily. But in all honesty, he is an exceptional guitar player, and an even better friend. The second I woke up and saw it I knew it was an accident and must have killed him. He put the guitar on ...

Re: Back in the Market

That's a beauty Jeff. There is a Larrivee OMV-05 E for sale local and the guy is looking for $1200. Not a lot of into on this particular model online, I am wondering if the newer model number for this is LV-05 E ?

Re: Back in the Market

Larrivees are excellent acoustics, but those 000 sized electric cutaways are pretty pricey for what I am looking to spend.

Yes the Martin is going to be fixed, my friend gave me the money to replace it and he plans to either have the headstock glued or replace the neck altogether. I am assuming ...

Back in the Market

Sooo, I had some old friends in town over the holiday weekend and needless to say we had a little too much fun on the town. A good friend of mine went to play my Martin late night and in the morning was in two pieces. So, I am once again in the market for an auditorium sized electric acoustic ...

I am confused as to why the Lennon museum is in Japan in the first place. Shouldn't that guitar be in London or NY?

I am so proud to honestly say that I couldn't identify a single song of his, nor his face. I have heard the name but have no clue who he is.

Maybe I am just getting old.

Re: Lyrical Gems.....

Been away from the forum for a while, this is a nice thread to return to. There are many many lyrical gems and I could probably fill these pages timeless times, but I will pick my favorite few starting with what I believe to be one of the most powerful lyrical compositions of a brilliant songwriters ...
