Those scratches will come out with some Perfect-It 3000 on a clean cloth diaper and a good bit of elbow grease. Then Scratch-X and Zymol.
If this is a new Rick under warranty, I'd call Kenny or Richard at Rick Customer Service and shoot some pictures over to them as well. This should be covered ...

Re: Finish Scratches on 360 JG
Thanks, Paul, for the advice. I returned the guitar to American Musical Supply this morning. I thought about shipping it back to Ric -- the instrument is new as of last July 8 when I received it -- but I hadn't even filed the warranty card. This guitar is the second in a row I've received in factory ...

Re: Finish Scratches on 360 JG
See the above photo. They're surface scratches that don't catch on my fingernails, but they are numerous and several inches long. I don't know what caused these scratches. The guitar arrived in a factory-sealed box, so it left Rickenbacker this way.

Re: Finish Scratches on 360 JG
Thanks for the comments. I bought the guitar online, and it arrived in a box sealed from the factory. It had that new Ric smell, but the strings were another matter. They seemed to be a bit rough; "corrosion" doesn't seem like the right word, but I'm drawing a blank on how to describe the condition ...

Re: Finish Scratches on 360 JG
Thanks, but this is one the threads I'd read. One or both of these products, though, seem to contain silicone as I mentioned above.
To answer your question, the scratches are surface scratches; they do not catch on my fingernails, for example. They are several inches long, however, and run the ...

Finish Scratches on 360 JG
Hi,
A few days ago I received my new 360 JG. I noticed right away that it has finish scratches all along the neck that are a) quite unexpected from everything I've read about Ric's excellent finishes b) unattractive and c) disappointing given the cost of the instrument. Should I return the ...

Re: REM Last night . . . .
Did any of you go to the Raleigh, NC show? They did a really excellent batch of songs and the Rickenbacker count got even more ridiculous when Johnny Marr joined them on a 370 and I did on a 330. I think videos of this are abundant, for anyone so inclined.
