Todd Rundgren's "Faithful" LP has really amazing covers of "Rain", "Happenings Ten Years Time Ago", "Good Vibrations" and "Strawberry Fields Forever".

My No. 1 is the Beatles cover of "Words of Love"

It sounds like a cross between Don & Phil and Buddy himself.

Yeah, Thirteen does it for me too. Mine has bonus tracks including a great cover of Phil Ochs' "Chords of Fame."

They do some neat covers. Anybody ever hear their versions of "Mr. Tambourine Man" or The Rutles "Between Us"? I, mean -- Who covers Rutles songs? Pretty cool.

Teenage Fanclub

I've been listening to Teenage Fanclub for for the past couple of years. They've been around since the early '90s, but since I don't get around much any more, I'm slow on the uptake. They put the lie to my credo,"If it was recorded after 1970, I don't like it."

Anyway, I didn't know T.F. had ...

The real cool thing is how the name originated. It's a classic example of life imitating art, or in this case, I guess it's art imitating art.

Anyway, back in the early '60s on his show, Steve Allen did a comedy routine where he put slips of paper with adjectives in one hat, and slips with nouns ...

My God, that band naming site just reminded me of "Stark Naked and the Car Thieves." Is anybody here old enough to remember that?

Here's a 360/12V66 from a Japanese collector's site. I gathered from the rather sketchy translation that it is number 1 of 24. He saw it at a show in 2003 and was able to purchase it in August 2004.

Kent, initially I wasn't really serious about "She's A Mod," but upon further reflection it would have sounded pretty cool!
