Re: Macca Isolated Bass

this is kinda the opposite, but "beatcomber records" extracted the backing tracks (i.e. WITHOUT BASS) from beatles rock band, in FLAC format. not sure if you'll find them by googling. there is also a set of tracks without guitar. very very interesting stuff.

Re: Does anyone have soundclips of higain neck versus toaster?

I went with a toaster in the neck of my 2004 4003 because the higain was indistinct on the E string from G# on down (RIC factory strings). It was an 11.6k higain. The 7.4k toaster added articulation and clarity in that range - I could then discern the different note tones. Tone was very similiar ...

if the camera focused on just the bass player and the audio just the bass line, i would've thought that the video was from an 80s band in the shoe-gazing scene

rickenbacker strap + schaller strap locks

hi,

i recently got a rickenbacker vintage style strap (with those skinny ends), and after struggling for a while, i managed to get the schaller strap locks onto them. but now that i look at it, it seems kinda forced :? it seems as though the strap locks were too big for the little holes on the ...

4003s and toasters

hi guys,

i'm wondering if anyone has replaced the stock hi gain neck PUP with a 12k toaster (e.g. from a V63) on a 4003 (from 2006 or later). if so, what's the tonal impact of such a mod?

does such a mod even make sense from a versatility/functional perspective, as the newer 4003s have the ...
