Re: ok....she meant well

"Critiques of music or Rickenbacker instruments is certainly permitted, however, not at the expense of others' feelings."

I have made a critique, and have not done so in any way to hurt anyone else's feelings.

In the end, if this fellow did not receive what was advertised, then that's dead wrong ...

Re: ok....she meant well

What I said is that if this fellow has received an instrument with dimensions different from those advertised, then that doesn't seem right; he should check again, because surely he should have received what was advertised, and it shouldn' t matter who the purchaser is or if they confirmed ...

Re: Typical Warranty Turnaround Time

I think they have good intentions. Let's hope the new bass isn't the same as the old bass.

Re: Typical Warranty Turnaround Time

I too have dealt with warranty, & the turnaround time was good. I suspect, with the others, that the factory is keeping an eye on these basses to be sure.

Otherwise, though, my experience is similar to the OP's in two ways. One, I too once emailed customer service about a defect, got the same ...

Re: 4004 L Bow Issues

It seems to me that I have seen a disproportionate number of issues with 4004L basses from the 2008 run.

Re: 4004 L Bow Issues

I guess I was asking if anyone's ever heard of or had experience with them being bad right from the factory.

The answer is yes. I had a brand new 4004L recently with forward bow, and the truss rods (in this case, both) were under massive tension right from the factory. So much so that I really ...

Cool! I'll look forward to your review, some time around 2011.

Re: RIC Pickup Analysis

Based on those graphs, why wouldn't I prefer a pickup like the Nordstrand? Equalizers are useful things--I could always dial out any high frequencies I didn't want. Pretty hard to boost high frequencies that aren't there in the first place, though.

Confirms what I already thought: the HB1 is too ...

Yet another Rickenbacker bass question to which the answers are Squire, Lee, & McCartney.

I too have generally been indifferent to FG, but what the factory has been producing lately is just amazing. So much so that FG is now my hands-down favorite!

Re: New Score - Fireglo jan. 09

Many of the recent FG finishes have been absolutely stunning, and it looks like you got one of those. I had a 4004L FG for a while, and the edges are a rich, dark, brownish red, fading very gradually to maple in the very center.

Really gorgeous. Best of all, of course, the sound turns you on! The ...
