Re: Shane's new 4004Cii.

Congats Shane, she's stunning! Probably one of the most stunning Fireglo finishes I've seen, and the flame just looks the business! I love the fact both my 4004's are so light, but not in sound.

Thanks for clarifying that, I had wondered why those has CI IMG in the image section, and the other didn't.

Re: Model of the Week 25: 4004Cii "Cheyenne II"

Paul,

I really appreciate all the replies. I wonder why RIC has changer the quality of the flamey maple on the recent batch of Cii's, maybe it wasn't intentional, maybe they were just lucky and the wood turned up like that from their supplier.

It's going to be another year before I can afford to ...

Re: Which Celebrity Bassist Influenced You To Buy A Ric?

I'm really disappointed that Bruce Foxton's not on that main list, as he has influenced many bass players in the UK to pick up a bass, myself included, as well as my mate Stan Stammers from Spear Of Destiny and Theatre of Hate. Incidentally Stan used a Mapleglo 4001 on every Theatre of Hate song ...

Re: Model of the Week 25: 4004Cii "Cheyenne II"

Paul, you've made that all perfectly clear, thank you. I know your as interested as me to find out whether there were more of that early style Cheyenne produced. Like you the maple fretboard 4004's are my favourite in the 4004 range.

I could tell that the Fireglo 4004 was a Laredo, as the body ...

Re: Model of the Week 25: 4004Cii "Cheyenne II"

Paul, I was aware of the small production of the first issues of the Cii with the quilted fronts, which had the bubinga fretboards, but was interested about the two that I'd seen with the maple fretboard. Have you asked John Hall to clarify any of these points for your book, as we would then be a ...

Re: Model of the Week 25: 4004Cii "Cheyenne II"

I so would love to have an early Cheyenne curly top with maple fretboard to add to my early 4004 collection, all of which have maple fretboards. It's the only 4004c curly maple top I've seen with a maple fretboard, which makes me wonder whether it's unique. Jeff is it an early model or was it custom ...

Re: Model of the Week 25: 4004Cii "Cheyenne II"

Will do Paul. I did hear a rumour a few years back that some one did own one here in the UK, so I'll do some digging and see what I can find out.

Would love one with a maple fretboard to add to my 4004C and 4004L but as there is only one, the prototype at the Rickenbacker museum, that will never ...

Re: Model of the week 20: The 4004 Cheyenne

Well better late than never, as I've been away from the forum for well over a year. Here are some photos of my March '93 4004c.

This bass is such a pleasure to play, and has a quality construction second to none. And just think I nearly sold this bass along with my June '93 4004 laredo, over a year ...
