Re: How many DO they make a year?
Somebody mentioned a guesstimate of 25 guitars/day translating into 9125 (25x365). I'm not sure how that number could be extrapolated to 365 days/year if for almost a third of that time the factory would be closed. Assuming 25/day is correct, the total really should reflect actual working days, so ...

Re: New Rickenfakers
I've seen a couple of these for sale in Canada. Notably here: http://classaxe.ca/basses/new_basses/more/indb02/
Junk IMHO.

Re: 4003 Noob - combo amp recommendations?
So, after much soul-searching, wavering, wimping out, trials & trepidation, and a surprise egging-on from my wife, I finally came home this afternoon with an amp worthy of my new 4003. It's a spanking new Markbass CMD 151 Jeff Berlin Signature Combo and I'm lovin' this thing to death right now ...

The girth on my 2009 4003MG' neck, at the 12th fret using the "match 2 marks on paper wrapped snugly around & under the strings" method is 5&3/8" exactly

Re: '09 4003 Necks - Slim is out?
I just got my 2009 4003MG a few days ago. It was shipped to me in Ottawa after someone who had ordered it from Long & McQuade in Edmonton turned it down because he thought the neck was a baseball bat. While it is a bit on beefy side I find it quite comfortable to play. Can't say whether it's fatter ...

OK, here's a few pix, of the Noob meeting the rest of the family. I've ordered a Tortoiseshell pickguard from Pickguardian, as I love the look against the Mapleglo finish, as can be seen from my 370/12 VP MG just to the right side of the photo. :D :D :D :D :D http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee311 ...

Oh man, what a gorgeous 4003MG. I'm gonna be playing this thing all night, but not through my little Peavey Minx. I decided to go with the Nemesis NC210, but I won't have that for another couple of weeks, so it's over to my buddy's place tonight to ...

Re: 4003 Noob - combo amp recommendations?
All the helpful suggestions are very much appreciated, and I can see I'll have my work cut out for me over the next little while. One kind poster even contacted me to offer up a Nemesis NC210 at a very good price, which appears to fit the bill very nicely both in terms of tone & weight and I look ...

4003 Noob - combo amp recommendations?
While I have six Ric's, none is a bass, and I play bass with an acoustic trio, so I finally decided to ditch my Epiphone Viola, and plonked down a deposit today at Long & McQuade for a spanking new 4003 MG. And look, Ma - no waiting . . . they had one in stock at their Edmonton store and it's on its ...

Re: AFG vs FG - A Quick Survey
I love both. I have a 370/6 AFG, as well as a 360/6 and a 381v69, both of which are in 2007&2008 versions of FG and all are outstanding. I love the look of the yellowed binding on my 370AFG. I'm not sure I would have described it as an attempt to emulate age - IMHO it stands on its own simply as ...
