Honestly I play down a half step most of the time, but the real 4005/6 basses are set up this way and hold up ok. So far it's dealing with it just fine. Here is a close up of the modded bridge.

The bass is tuned e-e just like a Fender bass six. I'll try to get a photo of the bridge tailpiece before the weekend. It's just the stock tailpiece with the string openings modded two extra string holes and the fingers that cover the mute between the bass strings cut out. I found a guitar bridge ...

I'm a old school 4 string player so my mind works e-G or on a guitar e-e, so I've never been able to figure out what to do with a low b because they just don't sound right to me, and I won't even try to go into a high c LOL. Ya can't play this thing with your fingers are do any kind of funk on it ...

Dale I did use your rods and they work great. This thing needs some solid rods with the E to E tuned bass strings. I sounds great running the toaster through my ampeg B15N and the high gain (with the treble cap kicked in) through a marshall. It takes up a bunch of room and would be killer in a three ...

4001/6 project done
About a year ago I bought a 1978/9 4001 project off ebay that the seller said had EMG and Sperzel keys added, but he forgot to say that it had a poor refret (with the board trashed) a broken truss rod, a bass Kahler and a battery box routed in the side where the jack used to be. All this made a ...

I'm well aware of that, but 66s are a bit different because many I have seen also have a small ink stamp in the neck pocket at well next to the shift stamp. This bass says it was made on the 2nd shift 08/08/66 ie two days before me. I have a 66 Esquite made 1st shift 08/10/66 the same as me and a ...

4003 Blueburst value
I can get a NOS 2005 blueburst Rick 4003 bass, but I need to know what a fair value for it is.
Any thoughts?

Here is my idea. I picked up a 1979 Rick 4001 bass off ebay that turned out to be so modded (EMG P, J pickups active preamp, Kahler bas trem, Sperzel tuners and more mods I don't want to talk about, but I wanted a project to make into a vintage all white 4001 (late 60s early 70s). I just picked up a ...

4005-6 bass photo needed
I did a search and could only find one small photo of one, but I really need to find a good photo of the headstock, so can anyone help? I know these basses are rare, but I hope someone here either has one or at least has some good shots of one.
