One thing I'd like to know is the ratio of 6 string versions to 12 strings produced.

It seems to me that 660/12s are far more common than the 6 string. I saw my MG 660/6 hanging in the store and reserved it right away. That was late Dec 2004. I haven't seen another since.

Thanks for sending me the email. I won't be able to respond until tomorrow night. I'm posting this from work, and I won't be in front of my own PC till tomorrow. Hectic time of year.

Stay tuned.

Swapping out my Toasters for Hi-Gains

Welp, I'm finally doing it. I'm going to replace the Toasters in my 660 with Hi Gains. The sound my buddy's 450 gets at high saturation has convinced me to go ahead and do it. Anyone here want to swap straight across? Hi Gains must be in near new condition as are my Toasters. Contact me if you are i...

Yup...those bridge covers come off and go live in the junk drawer. I still have the black plastic treble pickup cover that came with my 4003s. I sold that bass in 1999. Hmmm....I wonder if the owner is scouring the earth for it.

My live rig is Les Paul/Marshall, and I love my 660. What does that make me? Not part of the "Guitar World"? Dang....

660/6 Support Group

I've noticed in the 3 months or so that I've had my awesome 660/6, it is somewhat of an overlooked even underrated model. Most if not all of the 660 attention falls on the 12 string version. Wonderful guitars no doubt, but I'm starting this thread for all the 660/6 owners out there to chime in and s...

The new Ric price points shouldn't even be an issue. The prices remain unbeatable for such a unique range of instruments. Consider other cool yet reasonable US guitar makers. I'm thinking Heritage and Reverend for example. Both offer high quality and excellent value. They also borrow heavily from re...

I've only named my Les Pauls. Goldie Hawn, Karen Black and The Goddess. All Lps are girls in my warped mind. They're moody, expensive and gorgeous to behold but sometimes hard to get along with and ultimately irresistable. All other gear remains unnamed except my 100 watt Marshall. My bandmates nick...

The 1 3/4" nut width sold me on the 660. I've owned a 360 in the past and felt the neck was to narrow. Aside from nut width, the 660 has the vintage vibe with the gold plastic, trapeze tailpiece and the aformentioned mono toaster pickup configuration. I have yet to meet a Ric player that uses t...

I found this site after doing research on Rics after I put the deposit down on my 660. I was on the Project Guitar website and scanning through their list of forums, voila!

I'd like a wider fingerboard option on all models. The main reason I bought my 660 is the 1 3/4" board. Boy, I'd love a 330 with a wider nut. Other than that, everythings cool. I may make the vintage style bass bridge a little easier to intonate.

Yeah, the Trademark 10 will **** out if you pin the volume. The good news is it's a basically a "sans-amp" the direct out will deliver the unmolested signal to a PA, mixer or slave amp and the skies the limit as far as volume goes. As a stand alone amp, it's not very loud and loses it's ve...
