I use the Sansamp Bass Driver DI. It also has the blend control. Works great with my Rick 4003, the high growl still comes through but the driver gives the low punch a good boost. I like it to record, but our guitarist/engineer prefers the direct out, which is a very easy switch on the unit.

Styx on Palladia

Just watching Styx perform Grand Illusion and Pieces of Eight on the DVR. Current bassist, Ricky Phillips I believe, had what looks like a 4003 (bridge pup cover removed) in Jetglo on the first Pieces of Eight track, Great White Hope. Sounding pretty good for a bunch of old guys. :wink:
