Re: Need some feedback
Hmmm yeah definitely something got lost in translation going to youtube land there. I know enough about your skills and musicianship to know you wouldn't record and submit something that distorted. That is weird, I wish I knew more about the youtube process to help. Perhaps you could try reaching ...

Re: Tubes and Rics!
Had the chance to a/b a 300 against a 200. Very interesting, I actually ended up prefering the 200!

Re: After Market Pups
Tonally can ayone compare the Bart's up against the ric humbuckers? I started out with stock hi-gains, installed the Bart's and now am leaning towards the ric humbuckers. Someone please help me...

Re: Tubes and Rics!
I have tried the YBA 300, it is a monster of an amp. Simple eq and huge tube tone. Also surprisingly light. They list for $1550 plus tax CAD. Oh yeah, looks cool too if that matters to you( it does to me).

Re: Tubes and Rics!
Yes this would be the YBA 200 2 which is a newer amp. The older Traynor tube stuff is awesome as well, and can usually be had for a good price as well.

Tubes and Rics!

Re: After Market Pups
In your opinion Joshua, does the 6Rt perform better in the bridge position? I have installed the Barts and am mostly happy with them, just curious what happens when you swap positions.

Re: To use flats or not, I just don't know...
I've now spent some time with the Chromes, I am very happy with them. Played out a few times with them and definitely had to tweak the eq on my amp a bit. I also have noticed a significant increase in volume from these strings, or maybe it's just punchier. Either way I had to turn down a couple ...

Re: Trying to punk rock my 4003
+1 on the Chromes. I just threw a set on my 4003 and they punch hard. I play mostly punk type stuff and have for almost 20 yrs. Apparently rounds are NOT mandatory for punk at all. Good luck.

Re: To use flats or not, I just don't know...
Decided to go with a set of medium D'Addario Chromes. Wow, talk about punch. These things kick like a mule! I wish I'd have tried these a lot sooner. Maybe my ears just had some growing up to do. Definitely had to adjust my eq on the amp. I'm also going to have to widen the slot on the nut, the D ...

Re: To use flats or not, I just don't know...
I have decided to pull the trigger on a set of GHS precision flatwounds, med gauge. Is there anything I need to be aware of setup wise in terms of tension? I currently run D'Addario roundwounds of the same gauge. Thanks again for your input.

Re: To use flats or not, I just don't know...
Yeah,I guess getting another 4003 is the obvious choice however convincing my wife of that is another story...I have been looking into possibly GHS brite flats but who knows..maybe it'll have to be one of those 'ya never know if ya don't try' kinda things...

To use flats or not, I just don't know...
Hey all, haven't been here for a while but I have recently become obsessed with putting flats on my 07 4003. I have been using mainly stainless rounds for most of my career, abour twenty years, and I play pickstyle about 98% of the time. I play generally pretty aggressive rock and punk influenced ...
