Tubes and Rics!
This just in.....Tubes amps and Ric basses sound really, really amazing together! I just picked up a Traynor YBA 200 on craigslist for 300 bux. Wow. There, now all of you know, you can thank me later.

Re: Tubes and Rics!
i remember seeing a few of those heads in moncton, new brunswick back in the mid '70's at a used music store. they had cooling fans on the side of the head cabinet and had "sky" or "skye" spray painted on them.
Re: Tubes and Rics!
Ron, you're probably thinking of the YBA-3A as the YBA-200 is a product of this decade.
My first bass amp was a YBA-3, heavy but great sound from the 4005WB.
Re: Tubes and Rics!
Yes this would be the YBA 200 2 which is a newer amp. The older Traynor tube stuff is awesome as well, and can usually be had for a good price as well.

I run both my 4001V63s (1993 Mapleglo and 2001 Fireglo) through an early '70s SVT head and 8x10" cabinet – killer! Pretty much anything sounds great through a vintage SVT in good nick, mind you, including my Jazz-styles, but I particularly enjoy the Ultra Hi and Ultra Lo with the Ricks, as well as using the midrange control on Channel 1 to tighten things up by removing a dollop of 220Hz.

I play my '74 4001 through a Marshall Major I couldn't agree more I love tubes. Now I should confess I don't have much experience with others but I'm curious about the lil mark and the Tone Hammer.
