Re: What was your second ricky?
My first RIckenbacker was a 330-12 in fireglo. I was looking for the unique Rick 12-string sound. My second Rick was a 330 six-stringer, also in fireglo. In part it was an impulse purchase when I was in a local guitar shop, but I have always loved the music of the Jam and the Who, so I did not ...

Re: Rick Set-Up in East Tennessee
How can I get in touch with Larry Davis? Is he a member of this forum? Or does anyone have an address or phone number for him? Thanks.

Rick Set-Up in East Tennessee
I have three Rickenbackers. Two I have been able to set up just fine on my own to where they play just to my liking. I am not able to get the neck adjusted just right on the third one, though, so I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good guitar tech familiar with Rickenbackers who could get ...

Re: MEASURE YOUR GIRTH
Mark, added. Congrats on the new bass. Your 2004 has the same measurements as my Nov. '04. Not slim but very comfortable and it stays put with the season changes and stays in tune. Actually, that is it in my avatar picture.

Re: Does your Rickenbacker bass fit in your car?
If I drive the Dodge Caravan, it just fits straight across the back area, in front of my amp and the wheelie cart for the amp and my bag of junque. If I drive the Mazda Protege, I can fit a Ric guitar, but not the bass, in the trunk unless I fold down the back seat and extend the trunk. The amp has ...

Re: Case for a 4003
Congratulations on the new bass, Mark!
Thanks, Scott. I used the bass last night at practice for the first time and was very pleased. Tonight I adjusted the truss rods, the bridge height, raised and lowered the appropriate sides of the pickups, and adjusted the saddles, and now she's just perfect ...

Re: Case for a 4003
Yes, Chris at POTR did indeed quote me a price on one. It turns out, though, that I stumbled upon a 2004 4003 that came with its case (and looks unused) so I passed on the 2000 4003, for which I would have had to buy a case.

Case for a 4003
I am thinking about buying a 2000 4003 that lacks a case. So far on the internet I have been able to find only the vintage silver cases for sale. I see the Ric 330 molded case for guitars sold separately, but no 4003 molded case. Has anyone seen the molded bass case for sale or do I need to shell ...

Re: Guitar Care humidity/dryness
I keep my instruments upstairs where I have two dehumidifiers (one at each end of the house) that I run in the summer and a single humidifier that I run in the winter (closer to where the guitars are). I aim for 35% relative humidity (it gets pretty humid in East Tennessee in the summers, too). I ...

. . . but the policy is originated with Travelers, and I have had homeowner claims with them, and they treated me VERY well. I think the minimum insurance premium is around $225 per year. And this cover your gear at GIGS!!!!

standard is usually 45-105, but ricks do have a different standard gauge, though i am not sure what it is....i have not used rick strings since they came in the red boxes..... :| .
The rick bass string sets are now 45, 55, 75, 105, with a 115 added for the 5-string set. (On my non-rick basses I am ...
