Re: It sure is hard to find the right lefty RIC bass...
Yep, I have a feeling it will take a while. I guess the hunt is half the fun and I'm pretty patient.

It sure is hard to find the right lefty RIC bass...
...at least a lefty 4001V63 or C64. Since I started gassing for one of these, two have come up up for sale on dealers sites and were gone by the time I found them. There's one on hold in England but I'm sure it will be paid for and gone also. I should have bought this one that was on ebay a while ...

Re: WOULD YOU CONSIDER THIS "VERY RARE"
I grew up in Fort Worth and never missed a Dallas or Arlington show till I moved to Seattle in '97. I also try to schedule my visits back home around show time if possible. Regardless, that is one beautiful bass! Very cool..Thanks for sharing

Re: WOULD YOU CONSIDER THIS "VERY RARE"
John,
That is the most beautiful (lefty) 4001 I've ever seen. I will gladly trade you any part of my anatomy for it, left arm, kidney...you get the picture. Man, I would love to own that one! How long have you had it? And if you don't mind sharing, where did you get it?
Thanks,
Rick

Re: Bass experts input and opinions are appreciated
Hi Paul,
I loaded the big pics to my Photobucket account. If you need any different shots, just let me know. I still didn't get the email from the Rickenbacker guys yet. If anyone has any inside contacts I'd be happy to provide the serial number..actually, it's in one these pics on the Photobucket ...

Re: Bass experts input and opinions are appreciated
As a follow up to this, I just got off the phone with Richard at Rickenbacker customer service. I had sent him the ****** ebay pics and serial number about a week ago. He said he thought they had answered the email but I didn't ever receive it. Anyway, he said it was a special built instrument and ...

Bass experts input and opinions are appreciated
Hi Guys,
You may remember this one being discussed in the Marketplace/eBay sightings about a week ago. The consensus then was that it was real and aceonbass had seen a righty model. I received the bass today and I think it's the real thing. I'm not a Rickenbacker expert but I've sure looked at a lot ...

Re: Did they really make a short scale 4003?
Thanks for the input guys. Here's another weird thing. I heard back from the guys and he says the scale is 33 inches?? If you closely at the pics, the bridge pickup is moved forward of where a standard one is as well as the bridge being moved up??? Maybe they moved the bridge up to compensate for ...

Re: Did they really make a short scale 4003?
Hi,
Thanks for the input. Does anyone here think it's fake? I posted about it on another forum and someone said it was a made over, regular 4003.. Anyone see anything that makes them suspicious? I haven't paid yet..
Thanks again,
Rick
