I lowered my bridge all the way down and the action is still a tad bit higher than my V62 Hofner but it's perfectly acceptable. I may one day have it re-set up but I'm in no hurry to have it done. It plays great!
I did notice that the pups on my Hofner are hotter than the Rics pups.
Have it ...

In Ear Monitors

Anyone here use in ear monitors? What brands are good/bad, what to look for and what to avoid? Any tips or advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

I have used a NADY 201 True Diversity VHF system since 1989. I have used this unit all over the country with no problems anywhere. There is also no difference in the sound between it and a cord ( I don't use it in rehearsals so I know it sounds the same as a cord). It's great system.

Clay,

That's one of the reasons I'm glad I'm a lefty!!

One of the other BIG problems is that it doesn't take too long to replace a Hofner 500/1 (even a lefty) as they are a bit easier to get. But with a MINIMUM of a year wait for a 4001C64, that kills the 'lending' thing right there. I would ...

I would like to see Ric turn the sharkfin neck inlays over for the lefty 4003's instead of leaving them upside down. I have a 4001C64 (dots, of course) and don't want a 4003 but I think it would look better with them in the correct orientation.

I have a lefty 4001C64. I'm with Bob on this one and mine seems to have a much nicer blend in the Fireglo color. It doesn't get so pinkish in the middle. It blends to a nice light red and is just beautiful. Rics are just beautiful basses all around and I love mine.

There is a Ric connection here, folks. I have a lefty 4001C64 that I have to fly with. The Ric fits into the Fender case which seems to be stiffer and more solid than the silver Ric case and I would like to lock it during transport.

Unless you have another idea.

Thanks, Rich

Case keys

Does anyone have, or know where I can get, case keys for my '75 Precision bass case? Neither the keys for my Ric or Hofner cases work. I contacted Fender and they sent me two different types of keys and neither worked.

Thanks!! Rich

Hey David,

I have a lefty 4001C64 that I've had for 16 months and the tailpiece looks exactly the same as yours. The tailpiece is the same as the day she arrived. I have Pyramid Gold's on it and I believe this is the normal design for these basses. I will email John Hall and ask him directly ...

Does anyone here have a Vox T-100 cab from "North Coast Music" and if so, are you happy with it?

I don't have a strong feeling about the headstock either way myself. I just wanted a Macca spec bass and that is what I got. If I couldn't get a C64, I would have wanted a V63 because I prefer the "dot" position markers. I just wish Rick would make the lefty 4003's with the "shark fin" position ...
