Hi Bjorn

Thats a great pic (even if it was myself that took it!).........I will be very interested to see if it has a model number........

I have also emailed the pic to a fellow forumite (and church fan),... maybe he will come up with something.

I notice one of the guys has a RIDE t-shirt on (one of my favourite bands - and they played Rickenbackers all the time).........

Ride were popular from 1990 to 1993, so I'd say this picture will be approx 10 to 13 years old...

Thanks Miguel and Joe..............I feel a bit foolish now actually.........

I new the action in general was way to high, so I lowered it, but the strings hit the bridge pup when it was as low as I wanted it, so I assumed the nut to blame (as I have saw threads on here with owners not very happy ...

Nut alterations

I have a 330/12 which when the action is lowered (so the strings are touching the pups), the action is still to high!
Pretty sure the nut slots are not "deep" enough.
Question is, what is the best way to deepen these slots, whats the best tool to do it.
Should I leave it to an expert?

thanks

Dave, when I said ebay has made vinatge gear more "realistic", I am speaking from a UK standpoint.

Pre-cbs Jazzmasters, in the UK, were around £2000+, and still are from dealers here. On ebay they are approx £1500, and as long as you know your pot dates, neck butt dates, kluson deluxe details ...

He's just trying to put people off ebay, scare tactics...............If ebay went away, we would all have to go back to paying dealer prices for vintage gear, and in fact all gear.

Just read Eds "ebay" rants page............

Obviously he has felt the "pinch" since ebay came along, as ebay cuts out the middle man of sorts.BUT, are all these ebay horror stories true??I have approx 270/270 positive feedback, and have never came across a scammer..............

Just use common ...

Antony - although these ric appear very cheap in the US, remember you have approx £130 to ship it over, then VAT and import taxes (approx an extra 20%), so the original price soons grows ;-)

Jeffrey - The more I am playing it, the more its getting easier to hold all 12 strings, - I know what you ...
