Re: Geddy's New Rickenbacker
Curious which Instagram account you found these pictures. I follow as many Rickenbacker enthusiasts accounts as possible, including several of you and I can’t find this post anywhere. Facebook as well.

Re: Replacement TRC and possibly Pickguard
Yep, I am at about 5 degrees north Latitude…south of the Panama canal in Medellin and international shipping into/out of Colombia can be challenging to say the least!
I probably could ship internationally, I just don’t know exactly what shipping would cost on my end. You can send me a PM to ...

Re: truss rod cover screws
I've searched many places for small screws for our classic Rickenbackers and unfortunately Lowes, Home Depot, and Ace Hardware have very limited options. That said, I have some of these which are nickel (not stainless which is becoming common for screws), the right size and shape (3 x 3/8 with round ...

Re: Replacement TRC and possibly Pickguard
I have a standard white truss rod cover that would work for you. I'm not really interested in trading for a black one though. I could sell this one for $40 shipped if you're in the U.S.

Re: 2022 4003 CB SMG "Limited Edition"
Wow! I just picked this up last week from WildWood guitars in Colorado. What an improvement over my last 4003 Walnut.
New bridge design, single truss rod, skunk strip, checkerboard binding, unfinished neck, vintage knobs, and a perfect mechanical and cosmetic build.
I wasn't sure I was going ...

Re: Which pre-amp/DI stomp box do you use with your Ric bass?
The Tech 21 NYC DI-2112 (and it’s Rackmount equivalent GED-2112) are excellent and even eliminates the need to use RIC-o-sound in my opinion.

Re: Who wants to see an original 4001SB (B series 4001!)
Yep, set neck 4000's, 4001S's and this 4001SB all had skunk stripe on neck but not body. An interesting phenomenon!Dirk wrote: Fri Dec 09, 2022 12:17 pm What, a disrupted skunk stripe?????
That is truly unique, have not seen that before, way cool, it looks in great shape.

Re: Who wants to see an original 4001SB (B series 4001!)
I cover the abortive B model in the book. It was an interesting attempt to make a "vintage" model, and while a perfectly serviceable instrument, it really missed the true "vintage" vibe. That's when John Hall bought the company, ditched the B series, and started up the 4001V63 bass. I heard (or ...

The toaster pickup actually is all. But looking under the hood, it’s evident the pickup was not swapped (soldier looks good).

Who wants to see an original 4001SB (B series 4001!)
I came across this bass and initially thought it was a 4001S. Then realized it was an early 4001SB! Made in November of 1981, it must be one of the earliest examples (only example out there these days?) of the B series bass before they switched over to the 4003 platform. Anyhow, here are some ...

Re: How do you get your Rickenbacker’s appraised for insuran
No offense with this, but I think you have the wrong insurance company.
Any instrument insurance should be covered at stated value only - no appraisal needed. If that 4001CS has $50k worth of sentimental value to you, then you should be able to insure it to that amount and pay for that level of ...

How do you get your Rickenbacker’s appraised for insurance?
I recently got a 4001CS and figured it was time to have individual insurance policies for my basses.
For those of you with personal articles individually insured, what service did you use to get an appraisal? My insurance company suggested Christie’s, but that seems a little dramatic.
What say you?
