Re: Post photos?

Hey, Shelly,
Yes, I'm San Francisco born and raised, then moved up to Marin ten years ago after living in Europe for a while. Don't get me started about the old days  , so many great times we had, cool people and great stories. I never saw Janis live (just a wee bit too young) but was blessed ...

Re: Post photos?

Hey what's your new icon? At first glance I thought it was a fish head. Now I think it's a meteorite. Which is it, fish or mineral?
It's a bagel.

Slightly modified, not fit for consumption.

 Better to mod bagels than Rics! I liked it better when I thought it was a fish head ...

Re: Post photos?

Nice shirt, Shelly! Are you from the Bay Area?
Hi Kira, Great icon. You're inspiring me to get creative, but alas, no Photoshop or CS4... Yeah, I was born & raised North of the Golden Gate. Great time to be a teen in the 60's w/ the SF Sound and all. I was a huge Janis fan and was always at the ...

Re: Post photos?

With or without a Rick you'll always be part of the family. 8)
Mahalo for you kind words, Jeff. RRF rocks! Hey what's your new icon? At first glance I thought it was a fish head. Now I think it's a meteorite. Which is it, fish or mineral?

The icon I made is of myself w/ one of my heroes, the ...

Re: Post photos?

I'd hold on to it as long as possible Shelly.

Even with the mods, it's a very cool, very rare 60's dot bass, which you will probably never be able to replace. Love to hear what it sounds like...

Yup, been detailing the Honda CR-V and hope to sell it today instead of Ric. Maybe I'll make a little ...

Re: Post photos?

You know, if you really don't need to sell it, why not hang onto it? That bug may come again...

Nothing sounds and plays like the old 60's Rics. It's not like you can go out and get another. If you don't need to sell it, I wouldn't recommend it.

Smart move, cars are over rated, anyway ...

I know... I know... I just listed my car for sale. I'm not sure what price I could get for a modded Ric but it is a great player!

Re: Which scratch-x and zymol to use

Anyone ever try 3M Finesse-It II # 39003? Maybe I'll try some on my modded pick guard tonight. I'm sure I used it on an old Epiphone Les Paul from the pawn shop that was covered in surf, skate and banana stickers when I got it.

Re: Post photos?

Full Frontal.jpg WOW! Thanx for all your cool remarks. The Bass was modded mid 80's. The luthier is Rob Lee http://robertleeguitars.com/ I've known Robbie since Nursery School and we were sweethearts in Kindergarden! I wanted it sprayed clear, to add neck pup (I like that abbreviation). Rob chose ...

Re: Post photos?

My 4000 is a 1967. Was surprised to find cavity for extra pick up under the hood. I have a shot where I can see 4000 in pencil in the puka for the pots. That is, the hole routed out for the pots. (Puka: Hawaiian for hole, as in puka shells, yeah?) I wonder if all 4000's were routed for 2 pick ...

Re: Post photos?

 OK guys, love your comments so far... Please don't disown me for the mods. I will take the hits for the New Wave wardrobe, however. As Maui resident, Pat Benatar says, "Fire away!" Please notice the smeared stain refinish job when I got it mid 70's.
