Re: '66 330/12 First Gig
Totally agreed with Chuck. In my opinion the only recent guitar who can give that sound is the 360/12 C63.chucksimms wrote:I have always thought the vintage six strings were a completely different animal but the 12 is possibly even more so.

Last night I've played with my band at a private party. Songlist based on classics 60s beat/80s garage, w/myself playing half organ half guitar. After regular show people called us out again: I played organ parts with C63 on same songs previous played. What can I say? This guitar is a damned killer ...

Re: 360/12c63
Thanks Kyra! Despite it is not a perfect-mint-example I was really thrilled after played through my '64 AC30.
I have other two 12 strings Rickies, a '66 330 who sounds really close and a '04 330 who sounds very dumb if compared to the C63. In my opinion this model captures jangle sound in the best ...

Re: 360/12c63
I recently got a C63 in unexpected circumnstances (I was on vacation with family and this guitar displayed on a music store pleased me to take her to my home  ). I can say with no doubt that this is the best sounding Rick I ever played... Sound is amazing, jangle is amazing, playability is ...

Got mine yesterday. The book is ok but I thought it was a new release focused only on 12 strings model instead an update of the old book released in the 90s...

Re: Are Rickenbackers pop guitars?
Even though they can do it all, I like to have a tool for every job, and I let Rics do the job they're best at.
I totally agree this way. Every "tool" can drive the player way in territories not perfectly suitable if you play with other ones.
