you can also use the "acoustic" version, which has a para mid. Works great on bass. Also look into the Hartke "bass attack", and do an apples to apples comp of the behringer BDDI clone..in a loud club mix, there was no difference.

As the height of the strings off the fretboard gets greater as you go up the neck..you push down harder to compensate, and naturally push one string out a bit. One of my ideas is to build a 10 string, with 5 courses of 2 strings, and play more "horizontally"...sort of like what the old Fender 5 ...

i like the 8 echo dr. one H..though I can't really hear the octaves so well on the other..my sound for an 8 is a lot..umm ...clangi-er (new word...)..and the octave really stands out, especially an out of tune octave, which is hard enough to play in tune with light strings up the neck, without ...

? for 8 string owner/operators

I have played a lot of 8 string basses over the years..Hamer, Ibanez, Washboard, umm, burn, Veillete, Hagstrom etcetc..and have been considering a Ric..but the way the bridge is built scares me off..do any of you have problems with the intonation, as there's only one saddle per course of strings. so maybe Ric made a custom silver 4x10 extension cab? The pic above has a 100 watt, all tube, ptp, Plush head on top..if you can get past the tuck n roll (but i like it)..a serious amp, copied ...

What model is this cabinet?

I have an old Rickenbacker cabinet..sort of a strange shape, narrower at the top than at the bottom..4 Jensen 10" speakers, silver tolex covering.."rickenbacker" name tag. All the metal bits, including the input jack, and tolex remind me of a '66 Rick 12 i had..silver case. Someone told me ...
