Re: But... why?

Ye Gads... that thing must weigh more than me. I think you can actually see his spine buckling in this picture.

It works better because he's lefthanded though.

Re: Ampeg

I find this thread really socially interesting.

How important is it to folk in the US of A that the gear is made there? Is it a big deal?

I don't think the average British buyer would be as bothered about where their kit is made.

Re: Fake Rics in York, UK

Have a load of these just come in or something? I was just looking online for Markbass stockists around Yorkshire (I think it might be fun to try one out) and found the same thing at Rock Factory in Castleford... http://www.rockfactory.co.uk/proddetail.php?prod=gbg-tokrbf "Fantastic bass guitar...

Re: Best Amp for Ric bass?

The amp I've got, in fact the only one I ever had, is a Laney RBW300. I bought it years ago when I was first playing bass and knew little about things, but it's always done well for me, I know it well, and it sounds better than ever now I have a Ric. However, last night we played a gig supporting Fr...

Re: You Gotta Start Somewhere....

Hope you enjoyed yourselves.

I'm trying to imagine what the sound'd be like in a bowling alley. I'm thinking echoey, but maybe that's just the sound the balls make when they hit the pins.

What was it like?

Re: Storing guitars

Ahhh, this is just the thread I needed. My ric (and my non rics) are stored over near the window at the moment, as due to our place not being the largest, that's the only place I could lay them flat without them being in the middle of the room and upsetting my wife, but I was worried that it might b...

Here are some details of our next gig on Friday, December 11, at the Hull Adelphi.

Yey.

Also, the poster almost, but not quite, goes with the colour scheme here, I just noticed.

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

Yey, last weekend we did a bit of a mini tour thing, three gigs over a Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was loads of fun. Also, I've been waiting for my strings to be played in enough and not sound so bright anymore, they are definitely there now. Lovely. Anyway, this is us in Nottingham: http://img....

Thanks, it went really really well.

I want to go back on tour right away... but I don't have any days off left until April, so I suppose that's off the cards.

Re: The Rocky Nest

Yey, I'm really excited about this weekend. Three days, three gigs.

It's going to be ace.

My car is lugging the amps, because we get to set off first, and they are needed for soundcheck, which means I've handed over my 4003 to go in my bandmate's car.... that felt weird.

Re: Post of picture of you PLAYING your ric

They're still very pretty guitars though, and we're pleased to see them. Here's a shot of us on stage at the Adelphi again the other night. This time as we were headlining I got to choose where to pop my bass amp, so I didn't put it right in the shadows. I had you guys in mind a bit. http://www.vagu...
