Storing guitars

Post by dr_bob »

So I'm wondering how folks here recommend that you store your guitars for an extended period. I will store them in their cases but then do I . . .

1) stack the cases flat like a deck of cards
2) place the cases on their side so they line up side by side
3) place the cases vertically with the neck side up
4) none of the above

If you answer d) then what do you suggest?

Thanks. I'm having an extensive home remodel and want to make sure my guitars are safely tucked away for the next couple of months.

I store my guitars by placing the guitar cases vertically, headstock up.

+1 on option 3 here, Dr. Bob. I store all my guitars (bar one or two 'cheapies') vertically with the headstock up. I also have the cases labelled so that I can see what's in each case without having to guess.

Bob, I store mine like #3. As you are doing major remodeling, I suggest you send them to Labwork for safekeeping.

CJ it would seem that Jeff and I think alike except the ones that are destined into storage should come here, not to Jeff's lab. I can think of a few of Aitch's that would look great mixed in with my herd.

Good problem to have.

Where in the world can I store all these hundred dollar bills? The guitars have my closets filled.
