I removed the pick guard on my 73 4001 and inside the neck pickup route, 2-27-65 was penciled in...Could this be a body or neck build date? I'm trying to post a pic,but it's not letting me..I'll try later after I reduce the size...

It must be a '72/early '73 4001 in all the favorite finishes! 4001v72 Fireglo....Now that sounds awesome gentlemen!!!

My 4001c64 I just got had the color coded ball ends.To my knowledge, D'addario is the only company that uses these.By the way,"Pinkie" now has TI flats on her... Just right!!!!.....Ron

I just bypassed the .0047 cap on my 4001c64 I got for Christmas.It took longer to unscrew the guard than to do the mod.Now it sounds as good as it looks!!......Ron

My question is factory strings. The ball ends on my strings are color coded ...
