Mr Dee is a fantastic drummer...However,I really like Phil Taylor's style & attack. Just listen to Overkill...It's mental!!

Re: Ric Undergoes Major Mod
Here's the fun part... who says he's gonna sell it? All you people care about is resale value. Doesn't anybody KEEP a bass anymore? He put this work into getting what he wanted. I'm amazed something like this mod, a personal preference playability mod, gets so much flack over something like Dane do...

Re: 2010 4003 Body/Neck Join Changes
The tail on Paul Kris's 4003 pictured above does look like it's mounted a bit inward from most of my Rick basses, but I don't have a recent 4003 to compare it with. I don't have a pic handy, but the tail on my '73 4001 actually hangs off the back of the body by at least 1/16", maybe 1/8"....

Re: 2010 4003 Body/Neck Join Changes
Here are some pics of my week 1 2010 4003 if it helps any. Upper & lower horns are definitely slimmer than a lot of pre 2009 i've seen. Also, the fretboard seems to end higher, but i think that is where the horns have been made slimmer,it takes the sweeping curves lower down onto where the neck mee...

Re: New Rics vs Old
Just remember - folk outside North America have to pay a lot more than US street price for a new Rick - even after factoring in the shipping, as the distributors take their cut. As a result, the offshore price for a used Rick can be higher than the US street price for a new Rick, as US dealers can'...

Re: D'Addario EPS 170 Pro Steels - Advice please!!
Thanks for the replies guys.I went ahead & bought them.I put them on a couple of hours ago. They're definitely more tense than the DR's,but not much.I had to adjust the truss rods which i've never done on my Ric before...It was a piece of cake!! I must admit i was dreading it,but i took the cover...

D'Addario EPS 170 Pro Steels - Advice please!!
Hi all, I've read some really good reviews on these strings & was wondering if there are any users out there who can comment & advice. I have a 2010 4003 JG.I play mostly Punk Rock,Hard Rock & a bit of Metal.I've been using DR Hi Beams (45 65 80 100) since i purchased the bass, but i real...

Re: merit to "washer trick"?
So...Tonewise,is it better to use metal washers or a thin shaped piece of wood...if it's wood, what's the best to use? Oh goody, now we can start a whole new debate alongs the lines of: tubes vs. solidstate flatwounds vs. roundwounds P vs. J analog vs. digital film vs. pixels Cool, this should be fu...

Re: pickup cover on or off on a 4003 bass?
My cover came off as soon as i got my JG 4003 & the black bezel installed...It looks awesome & happy to say there's no interference/noise with it removed.
