Re: when is a rick noob "officially" an owner?
You cannot "own" a Rick. It is simply on loan from the gods.

Re: Poll: Band With Worst Hair
This must get an honourable mention, for bad hair cuts and and over use of "The new wave"

Re: Slowdive
I believe the correct spelling is hippie. The establishment, Sears and Dragnet spelled it hippy. Thank you and watch the brown acid.
as one who had lived in the Haight area of San Francisco for 13 years, i can definitely say it is indeed, "hippie." some classier establishments still have their ...

I'm not sure if Buzz Osborne (of the Melvins) has the best or the worst, but it's ... something.

For your consideration, I present.....Motley Crew
I was gonna mention them! It brings me to a story. I had an Economics teacher from 2006-2008, whom I was very close friends with and confided in with on a regular basis, who was a fan of them growing up, probably still is. He is also a big Beatles ...

Re: Poll: Band With Worst Hair
I'm not even sure who these guys are. I downloaded the photo once as an example of bad 80's band hair, but I didn't make a note of the band's name.
Any who...I thought it was relevant to the thread, and maybe someone here can identify them. Great hair. Love it. I'm pretty sure that's Cinderella ...

Is that a Rick????
One of my faves from the 90s! I've got the purple CD Smile (with tracks from the early EPs on it) which is OK. Nowhere , which has some killer songs and rather raw production. And Going Blank Again which is also really good, but different with the production polish and more synth stuff on some ...

Re: Poll: Band With Worst Hair
Where to start ... any time that a bit of alternative innovation becomes the new mainstream, and then it reaches such a critical mass of Walmartization that it absolutely lacks meaning or even a hint of alterity, well, that's when hairstyles are bad in my book. Here's a perfect example of a cynical ...

Re: Ride
I'm of the camp that believes this band just got better as they matured. :) That may be true, but I'm not sure that means the music got more memorable. I find Ride's earliest stuff the most distinctive, though I like most everything they did. Here's one of my all-time faves, from the early days ...

Re: All things 620: what exactly makes a 620/6 special?
Bill, congratulations on your new acquisition. :D I know that feeling you're talking about!
I had this idea before today that I would just make a few recordings with this new 620 and then sell it, perhaps even making a few shekels on the sale. Well, that was before I actually got it today. I don't ...
