Re: Top Rickenbacker Songs
Late to this one - but maybe for the hour-long show they could include "Almost With You" by the Church. Great sounding jangle on this one! And the quintessential Church song, according to singer/bassist Steve Kilbey.

Re: Selling my Rick Acoustic...Maybe?
I have started a new (and hopefully more appropriately located) post about this guitar and it's value/characteristics called "acoustic rick (700C) value?". It is in the "Rickenbacker Marketplace" section, under "Rickenbacker Appraisals". Thanks in advance for any help with this!

Re: Selling my Rick Acoustic...Maybe?
Not in a hurry at all. Still contemplating whether I ought to sell. But I don't play it much, and someone else might really love it.jdogric12 wrote:If you're not in a hurry you should be able to fetch very good money for it.

Re: Selling my Rick Acoustic...Maybe?
Oops! A day later, I realized I may have made a forum faux pas by putting this thread here and not in the Marketplace section. (Often I don't log in when I surf the site, and I forgot that was an option.) I guess I should re-word and re-post this in the appraisals section, since I don't really have ...

Selling my Rick Acoustic...Maybe?
Sorry for the loooong post - but here it goes...
Hello all. I have been a Rickenbacker fan and player for a long time. I currently own 3 Ricks, along with a couple other guitars, and I feel like it might be time to pare down the collection a little bit.

Re: Marty Wilson Piper
The Church sound fab this time around, go if you can.
I always like it when a band takes the time to do new arrangements/versions of songs - especially the ones you've heard a bunch of times. They did this with a bunch of the tunes and it really worked. They played the "jazzy-er" version of ...

Re: Marty Wilson Piper
Oops - I thought it was a Martin. One of them was playing a Martin at some point. Steve Kilby had a really pretty Taylor 12. It was definitely the most 12-string-packed show I've ever seen.kennyhowes wrote:That's the Takamine Paul and I were referring to earlier.

Re: Marty Wilson Piper
I was able to catch the LA show on Monday night. Good concert! MWP only played his Ric bass on one song. As it was an acoustic show there were no Ric 6 or 12-strings to be seen. He mostly played a beat-up Martin 12 that was covered in duct/electrical tape. (Not sure what all that tape is for - I can ...

Re: Anyone else have a Rick acoustic?
I apparently have one in Paul's paint booth as we speak. The anticipation is killing me. It will be a 12-string. I also own a 730L that I got from POTR a few years back. Love that one. It is my favorite RIC to play.
It's seen in this photo. The ones that I am holding have sadly moved on.

Re: Anyone else have a Rick acoustic?
There was also the damaged one recently on ebay from an Asian seller, but that was distressed-priced and not truly reflective of market.
If I ever sold mine (which I probably won't), it might have to be "distressed-priced" - it's been through a lot. It's hasn't seen a lot of action recently ...

Re: Anyone else have a Rick acoustic?
This is Paul's work at its finest. Check out the tortoise binding and the sparkle inlays on this one -- there's more pics on the OV site, follow the link:
Trust me - I've already drooled over the pictures on the website. :D

How about this one - factory 700C, a couple years newer than mine:e-rick wrote:No, Olivia's price is a bit of a stretch

£7000!
It seems like prices for Ricks are consistently higher in the UK - are they even harder to come by over there?

Re: Anyone else have a Rick acoustic?
Just saw this Rick acoustic for sale:

Sure is pretty - but is $7500 the typical going rate for these nowadays?
I got mine for much less, of course it was back in the late 90s. I must admit, that this one is better looking ...

Re: Anyone else have a Rick acoustic?
Nice picture! Where'd you find your acoustic? Was it a special order? Mine is the only one I've ever seen in-person. I just happened to stumble across it in a shop...
