Anyone else have a Rick acoustic?

Post by e-rick »

Just curious - anyone else have a Rick acoustic? If so, what model, and what do you think of it? I have a 700C from the mid-to-late 90s. It has the most beautiful flamed back on it. It's a fine guitar, but I must admit, I prefer my other acoustic to this one. The neck of my other acoustic just fits my hand better.

Great shots! My 700 doesn't have the fancy pickgaurd, or colors - standard MG. I've never seen a Ric bass, either. Are these acoustics the ones that Paul Wilczynski is making? They look terrific! That blueboy color sure is pretty. Love to hear from anyone else with an acoustic out there. Anyone else have a 1990s-era acoustic? I'd love to read some reviews.

My lefty 730S was built by Paul. I pretty sure that the Blueboys are his handiwork too.

Yes, the short-scale acoustic bass is (so far) a one-off made by Paul W. Really nice!

I love, love, LOVE my Comstock. The bass range is nice and punchy, and the treble range absolutely sparkles.... and it looks great, too. It is my go-to acoustic for songwriting.

Nice picture! Where'd you find your acoustic? Was it a special order? Mine is the only one I've ever seen in-person. I just happened to stumble across it in a shop...

Trotty is playing my 700C MB in this shot, while I play a semi-acoustic 4005. Nice shorts!

Got my Comstock on eBay a few years ago--it had been a demo model in a Minnesota chain music store. We paid $1500 for it, and it the time we thought that was really a lot of money for one.... But then RIC stopped making acoustics, and the prices have continued to climb.... this was one of the best guitar purchases we ever made on eBay.... I can't imagine being without my Comstock for very long!

You make that baby sing nicely, too, Melibee! :D

Here's a shot of me playing my factory 730L MG (October 2000 DOM):
