Re: Opening Chord..Hard Day's Night

I go with this one:

12-string:
E ---3---
B ---1----
G ---0---
D ---0---
A -------
E -------

For 2 reasons: it sounds right on a 360V64 and I remember reading an interview with Gary Moore who got George to show him this chord. Moore's reaction was: "Is that it?" ie a very simple chord. They don't ...

Re: 360/12c63

Bill, From those I have spoken to three years seems to still be the wait time more or less, so I'm very pleased to have purchased the C63 from Greg. In fact, the closest dealer to where I live told me that since the wait on a 360/12 is two years, the wait on a C63 would probably be at least three ...

Re: 360/12c63

This past weekend I completed the purchase of the 360/12C63 offered by Greg in the above posts. Greg takes meticulous care of his guitars, and the C63 is truly in mint condition and without a mark of any kind. I was able to buy it at a good price, and Greg was very easy to work with. As it happens ...

Re: Nashville flood claims millions in music gear

Here is a link to a piece that played on NPR this afternoon (Wednesday) on the destruction of instruments in Nashville that focused on the many valuable guitars stored at Soundcheck by many well-known musicians: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/stor ... =126776761

Re: x-bracing and skunk-stripes in 360s

I bid on but did not win the 1980 360/12WB, but I'm still interested in the differences between the WB series and the V64 and C63 series. For example, there is currently a MG 1991 360/12 WB on e-Bay. Was the WB series replaced by the V64? Is it correct to assume that the x-bracing was no longer used ...

Re: What Guitar Was George Using ...

Hey, Matt. I hope you take it as a compliment that I remembered your list, found it again, and reposted it here with your name. I appreciate your putting the list together, and Wolfgang for his. I apologize if this issue has been covered before on this forum. Thanks, Wolfgang, for taking the time to ...

Re: What Guitar Was George Using ...

Wolfgang: I did try the search function here but didn't see a previous list, so posted this one. I'll look again. At Shea, George is playing the Tenny, but was it double tracked in the studio? On the other forum it was said that the 12 was not used on Can't Buy Me Love but a 6 double tracked. What's ...

Re: What Guitar Was George Using ...

Since this thread has been dormant for awhile, I would to revive it to ask a broader question about which songs George played a 360/12 on. The thread reminded me of one I once came across that was posted on the Ric company forum back in 2006 in which a member named Matt listed the following songs ...

Re: 360/12c63

I'd love to take a look at the marketplace, but being new to the forum I haven't placed my requisite number of posts yet. It's going to take me awhile, but that's okay. I understand the situation and respect the requirements. I've already learned a lot in a few days and hope that I have something to ...

Re: 360/12c63

I'm contemplating placing an order for a 360/12 C63 as well, and if it takes more than a year and a few months to arrive, and there isn't any reason to think it wouldn't, it will be a late 60th birthday present. I just wish I had been smart enough to buy an OS 360/12 when I was 40 or, better yet ...

Re: Opening Chord..Hard Day's Night

I believe in the captured frames both George and John have their thumbs at E 2, raising the question of whether they were muting the E and (though not necessarily) the A strings, or just resting the thumb in a nearby position until they played a somewhat awkward chord using the thumb at E 1. Can ...

Re: x-bracing and skunk-stripes in 360s

Thanks for the information on when x-bracing was discontinued in the 360/12. This is an issue I've been wondering about in weighing a somewhat lower cost vintage model against a more expensive new c63. For example, is it safe to assume that a 1980 360/12 WB (currently on e-bay) has x-bracing, or ...
