Here's our tribute band. The sound of rick isn't as good as the original, but the live situation wouldn't allow us to make the bass sound any better than this

This is somewhat embarrasing, I was pretty sure that Steve Fossen used 4001 on some Heart's songs. But on "Little Queen" it was Alembic!(Information at first hand.) I guess there are lots of other factors to get that kind of sound and it's possible with some other basses too.

Anyway, I'm after ...

What is the most typical Rick bass sound? I think these examples show off lots of variations. Sgt. Pepper sound is very far away from Yessounds.

To my ears, the most identifiable sound is, for example, Heart's 'Little Queen' or 'Straight On You'. Has anyone heard?
