Re: Rickenbacker bass with effects

Sounding very cool! I too use effects in the music I play with both of my bands!
Ever since I first started playing bass on an old Peavey Foundation bass (which I still have) I
always like to throw in effects! Lately my band Evertheory has been more of the platform
for my Boss GT-10B and EH P.O.G ...

These guys rock live, and are absolutely some of the coolest cats out here in LA!
I designed their logo and mascot "Rex" :)

Jeremy uses a FG 4003 and I believe an AG 4003.

Really cool guys and I am (still) learning a LOT from Jeremy's ...

Re: Where do you rest your thumb when playing bass?

When I want to play DEEP sounding notes, I brace it on the pickguard. Or I strum the strings just between the pickups and no thumb is needed at that point.
When I play more "articulated" passages, for lack of a better term, I actually brace it between the bridge
and the HS Pickup on the E string ...

You have her fitted out like my '04, your bass' doppelganger, mine being MG. What strings do you use. This one has NOS RIC/Maxima flats on it.
...and similar to my former 4003, too. 8)

Thanks- I was actually inspired to go to a local guitar shop that has 2 4003s on the wall (unmodified)---and wow. I really think that although they sounded great, I really like my tone more.

Re: Favorite Rickenbacker Color ?

Since I am such a fan of colors (in general) from the 70s, I would have to say that Montezuma Brown. AutumnGlo is an amazing color as well. I wish I could have a 4001 in either of these colors.
