Re: The "I Got The 360/12 Tailpiece Restringin' Blues"
The R tailpiece on my 370/12 exploded last year. I replaced it with the Winfield trapeze and never looked back. I did order a replacement R tailpiece from Pick of the Ricks to stick in the case compartment. As far as strings, POTR's custom flatwound Tomastik Infeld 12 string set (10-44) have worked ...

Re: Serial/Year Number
The neck is super fast and smooth much like my Strat's maple neck. Love it. The guitar is like new. Think I will keep it.

Re: Serial/Year Number
Anticipating the neck will be much the same as a 360 Mapleglo I had several years ago. The W series necks should be the same maple as all the other 360s. Looks like the 360W and 330/12W have the same neck size/dimensions if I am reading the Ric web site correctly. Will let you know how it feels and ...

Re: Serial/Year Number
The folks at Rickenbacker agreed it looked like a mis-stamped 14. I pulled the trigger and it is on its way. Here are some shots from Reverb.

Re: Serial/Year Number
That is a possibility. The dealer is going to contact the original owner to see if they still have any documentation and I also sent the message and photo to Rickenbacker. We'll see what they say. I knew I could count on the forum for ideas/suggestions.

Re: Serial/Year Number
No unfortunately that is all I have. I asked the owner if the guitar had been refinished but he said no. Will try to find out more next week.

Re: Exploding "R" tailpiece? Fact or fiction?
Last fall, I took out my 370-12VP to play. As I tuned it, the bottom of the R tailpiece blew off and flew across the room leaving me with a set of TI strings flopping around uselessly. The original R tailpiece is a crummy piece of pig metal. I sent it down to Pic of the Rics and got a newer, better ...

Re: Are the Byrds still relevant?
In one sense it is a tough question due to the state of the music industry and how people listen to music now. In the good old days, listening was more of a tribal experiece because of AM then FM radio. You would hear something in the car or at home then tell your friends then buy a 45 (remember tho...

Re: Vox Amps Big vs. Small
You could try North Coast Music for the best of both worlds. They offer several Vox amps with U.K. Blue Celestion speakers. Bought one of their AC15C1 with the UK speaker and the birch baffle and it is the bomb, especially with my 370/12. It rocks my other electrics too. No affiliation, just a satis...

Re: "R" tailpiece blew off
Haven't had any problems with the tailpiece on my 370/12 but I only use the Ric set or TI flatwounds. I am thinking about switching to a Winfield harp tailpiece just for ease in changing strings and perhaps to avoid any future problems with the R unit.

Stories, Songs & Friends CD and DVD
Not sure if this is old news but just ordered this through Roger's web site.
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/rogermcguinn6
Some duplication from other CDs but a great set list with some Ric content.

The saying attributed to Mickey Mantle may apply here:
"If I knew I was going to live so long, I would have taken better care of myself."
Have a Martin D-18DC so Happy Birthday Mr. Crosby.

Re: McGuinn in Denver 7/24
Congratulations on gettng an autograph. She politely refused my 370/12 pickguard at a show in 2008.
His show is so good musically as is the way he weaves his own story as a musician into the set list. And he has been doing it this way for many years and it doesn't get old.
