I was just listening to McCartney's 1st solo album. Wonderful bass work. Man, it's been years since I tapped out Kreen-Akrore on the desk with my fingers. Image

Francesco, while you're playing those songs it's easy to see how much you enjoy the music. I have the exact same musical preferences as you do, and enjoy that you're playing the songs I want to hear. You inspire me to play my bass much more often. I would never had believed that you can get the Sgt ...

If you scroll down you'll see him playing along to his CD's. His sound on the Sgt Pepper songs is excellent, considering he's using round wounds. He makes me want to practice a whole lot more!

Ted, thanks again for making my one and only Ric incredibly playable and gorgeous. It was only one project for you, but to me it's a daily joy. I know how all too often, things end up taking much longer to complete than they should, especially when you have a passion for perfection. It can be ...

"I gotta confess, I don't know why one would need that many basses...especially if many of them differed only in finish color."

You're not the only one Dane.

"I'm not saying there's anything wrong with it, I'm just saying (to be read with Shatner-like intensity):

I...don't...know...WHY ...

Bobcat, you're playing the music I wish I could find a band to play! Do you have a band website or any music posted online? I'd enjoy hearing some of the beloved classics.

"If the mute had an instant engage/disengage switch or something, I'd use it all the time, but, as it stands now, turning two knobs several rotations each is too much effort for me to get a sound that I don't use very often."

All the more reason to do a Sgt Pepper set. http://archives ...

"It's funny how even us RIC diehards can't even agree if we like it or not"

My feeling is that most are buying it not as a player, but more as a cash cow. I could be wrong.

I owe Dale big time. When I got my bass back from Ted, it needed a partial refin. Paul W was backed up for 3-4 months or so. Dale was able to do it virtually right away. An unfinished neck would have had to be cleaned with Naptha after every playing, not fun at all (unless you like to sniff Naptha).

"...then I realized that the "emperor had no clothes", and I'm not talking about you know who."

Alsolutely brilliant analogy! So true! You've made my day!
