I never understand why people think McCartney's bass-playing is boring. Hell, I used to think that, and I don't even remember why I thought it.

I have never though Paul was boring and Francesco I think you have a really good grasp of how one of the most creative bass players of our time was doing it! Another at the time, who was covering new ground, was the Beach Boys. I'm not a huge fan of theirs but if you really listen to their album (out about the same time as Sgt. Pepper – maybe Good Vibrations??)... well there is a lot more going on than meets the eye - IMHO. Again Francesco great licks man - bravo!!

I was just listening to McCartney's 1st solo album. Wonderful bass work. Man, it's been years since I tapped out Kreen-Akrore on the desk with my fingers.

Francesco, great stuff, I have been watching and listening for what seems like hours now...Silly Love Songs is one of my all time fave bass lines, I'd love to see it if you put it up!
