Boy, did they. It was sold to Lowdbass (Daryl Jones?) and he traded it to Bob Hynosky. I tried to find info on the bass but never had much luck. I found some of my old posts on the old archive of alt.rickenbacker.

Sorry for the poor quality pic. This one was KA015 which I bought for $500 in 1998 and sold for $500 on Ebay in 1999......It was rough though with wear on the board and body, changed treble pickup and tuners. The nameplate was original but missing the tip.

On second viewing it appears the bass may have a treble pickup mod.

Bob Welch at California Jam 2

A nice looking 4001 in this video. Stevie Nicks is hot too! It takes a minute for the song to begin.

Crazy On You was Steve Fossen on a late 50's maple neck Precision bass. Dave Hope got a similar tone with Kansas on Song For America. I believe Tiran Porter was using a pre CBS rosewood board P bass as well on Taking It To The Streets. He did play that Rickenbacker on the earlier stuff like Jesus Is ...

Should have put it on Ebay. It would have brought plenty of $$ there. Did you see what that '71 4001 bass brought recently?

p.s. Hope I did not scare you off with the description of my bass Elys!

That is one nice rig. Too heavy for this old man though! I have settled on this setup which is plenty loud for just about any gig.

My September '72 BG also has the white switch tip. I'm pretty sure it is original as the black tip I ordered from Mike Parks was too large for the threads.

I recall the serial on that 4000 of hers was AC277. Isn't she the gal that was claiming to own all sorts of vintage basses and was using photo's of other peoples instruments?

Actually, it's Darren's bass. I was just showing before and after pics. Nobody here was clear that the bass was a refin.

Caress Of Steel was my first exposure to Rush. Back in the summer of '75 I was at my friends house and his older brother was blasting out "Fountains Of Lamneth" from the stereo. I was hooked after that.

Good spot on the black surround being on the 1 inch spaced bass. I always assumed he just ...

I forgot to mention that Dale also sealed up and touched up the crack behind the headstock. You can't even tell it was there now. He also gave the bass a great polish job.
