+1. I use a Mono double that is very handy and secure....if I am handling the basses from point to point that is!T28 wrote: For gigs I always cary my basses in gig bags....either a MONO single or double.

Re: 2014 Color of the Year is...
Pete - I got my Blueburst from Ricky at The Rickenbacker Asian Network. Try him:
http://www.rickenbacker-asia.com/
Thanks Terry, I have Emailed him but not hopeful as I believe the 15 were for domestic US market, but now some have gone to Germany?
Not sure if that was extra over the 15 or not ...

Re: 2014 Color of the Year is...
They're priced at $400 above the standard list but of course the dealer decides the final price.
It's my understanding that from our side all 15 basses were sold within 10 minutes of the announcement but that doesn't mean every dealer has found a good home for every bass.
And if you're lucky ...

Humble words Pete, but I took mine to 2 really high profile luthiers here in WA, and they were both flummoxed, despite insisting they knew the exact fix.petersland wrote:Thanks Terry for the kind words but I am in no way an expert, just an enthusiast.

Re: 4001V63 2002 Turquoise Dead E-String
The original E was pretty bassey when I played it prior to purchase, i believe it was probably somewhat dead as well. Do you know what you Petersland did to get it even across all of the strings. That would be awesome and solve my problem. I don't think I am asking too much? Am I?

Re: 4001V63 2002 Turquoise Dead E-String
I am by no means an expert on Rics like many here are, but my new 4003 a few years ago had a dead E out of the case. I did some research and discovered that it wasn't that uncommon. I tried tweaking the set up myself, changed strings, all to no avail.

Re: Level 3 finish on 4003
Hi Jeff,
Yes it's great here in Margs, especially today. Not a cloud in the sky! Are you here this weekend? I'm in the wine business myself.
Pete is a good man - and does nice work on Rics. He was the only one to be able to fix some issues I had with mine a while back.
By the way, yes Perry ...
